INTRODUCTION
Script is to write or narrate about the particular topic which depicts the overall story
related to task. Report is the writing of something which has been observed, done, heard or
investigated. It can include the informative knowledge.
The above report includes the podcast and report about the new manager Brett Jones who
was appointed at the Hydro Generation company (HG) for completing the dam project at the
Tanzania. The various issued which is being faced by the manager while conducting its duty
their for completing the project. How it can be solved or improved by various communication
and negotiation theory so that it could be better for the company. Further the report includes the
reflective essay which describes the situation which can be handled by individual in future.

Podcast & Script -
The new manager named as Brett Jones who is appointed for the completion of major
dam project at the Tanzania. Graham Steinberg who is the vice president Hydro Generation (HG)
in United States is worried about the what measures or methods will be adopted by the Jones for
completing the project. Jones has good past experience for completing the project with minimum
budget and on time. The Jones has been working in the foreign environment whereas the
company's working for the Tanzania where the organization have an different culture within the
company (Ting‐Toomey, 2015). As a manager Jones believed that subordinates must also given
the right to take decisions and accountable for results also. The main aim of the Jones is to hire
the local people for various posts. The main issue which will be faced by the Jones is that it
could be very difficult for Jones to interact with the local people of the Tanzania, as Jones need
to establish a operating structure for the incoming managers. And the Jones has not communicate
much with local people so it is difficult for them to establish a better organizational structure. In
Tanzania there are 61% of people are Christian and 35% of people are Muslims (Ramirez Marin,
Olekalns and Adair, 2019). The Jones need to employ the local people but according to the HG
there is no formal guidelines on the lifestyle of employee but culture of company has maintained
living standard which makes company prosperous internationally. So the other issue face by the
Jones is company's culture for employ. The Jones refused to go the places where public are
gathered in the large number that can be churches and clubs. But they had to adopt the lifestyle
which will make their life easy while completing the project. Another issue faced by the Jones is

that they are hiring the local people as there is large unemployment in the area an job searchers
are gathering information by the word of mouth and thus Jones doesn't have interaction with the
local people so they are not able to hire local lit for the various task they are hiring the relatives
as the niece of high-ranking Custom officer. So they are facing the issue that the local people are
not convinced with the manager in any way and thus local people of Tanzania are not supporting
the manager. As there is no interaction and communication among them and the manager and
peoples are not involved with each other (Geirhofer and et.al., 2017). This builds a difficulty
among the local peoples and manager for performing and building the organization structure so
that the engineers from different countries could reside in the basic environment of the Tanzania
and easily complete the project for dam successfully. The organization structure is disorganised
and there is no one under any one charge it disturb the overall structure of the company this all
due to lack of communication and negotiation among the employees, local people and Jones. The
communication and negotiation theory which would be used by Jones is Constructivism
communication theory will be helpful in gaining the multiple communication goals within the
organization. In this theory the manager has an ability in creating sophisticated and customized
messages to the employees (Ting‐Toomey, 2017). The Jones can use this theory for increasing
the communication within their employees and the local people so that they could easily
involved with the local people and allow the employ to have a systematic work culture in
organization and work with the appropriate system. Jones should concentrate on the
communication skills and can use various communication skills for improving its
communication with both. Competencies theory can also be applied to the employers of the HG
to have an ethical hiring within the organization (Tofan, 2016). Firstly they will require to
develop self competence for leading company in structured manner. Calls for the development of
team in which it can be done by setting up benchmark for the new employees for joining the
organization. The ethical competences must be considered within the organizational structure so
that employers are encouraged to hire skilled and talented employees among the organization
rather then employing the ones with relation and any connection with influential people (Hua,
2015). So however it is very necessary for company to hire the skilled and talented employees
for the company so that the project can be completed within the given time period and the
employees could have a leader to manage their activities and monitor each and every aspects of
activities which are being performed by the employees. So that such practices will also being

reduced within the company. Lastly the Hydro Generation needs to ensure equality and cultural
diversification for heading the portions activities smoothly in other countries and Tanzania as
well and ensuring the success for the company. However the cultural diversity will be effective
in terms of ensuring a talented and diverse employees which could be better for the company for
leading their operations in various sectors as well (Mussleman, Jackson and Thiele, 2017). This
allow the company to more communicate with the local people also and employee more talented
people from the the Tanzania so that they will be more supportive towards the company and thus
the target of the company can be soon completed with the help of them. They could involve with
the local culture and have a work mode which could be supportive by their employees. The
company had an skilled and talented employees form Tanzania then the costing will also be
reduced for the company (Clohisy, Yaszemski and Lipman, 2017). As per the Corporate Social
responsibility the company should employee people from the community rather than employing
the individual from family member which have increased a lot of unemployment within the
nation. This theories would be helpful in developing the communication and reducing conflicts
among the villagers of Tanzania and leading to have healthy work environment with the cross-
cultural theory.
Reflective Essay –
The different theories which was above mentioned can be utilised within the organization
in very effective way. So that the company can have a organized structure for the operational
activities. The theory can be applied in different way that most probably the skilled and talent
employees must be recruited in the HG so that they can be fruitful for the growth of the company
and can get through different strategies and measures for that. Company can follow the ethical
consideration within their company so that they could recruit the people from local area so that
they can reduce costing for that. For this the company had to increase their communication with
the employees and must allow the skilled people to work with their company so that company
can complete their project within the specified time period. It can be more useful for companies
as they have an skilled employees company can perform its activities among the different
countries also. So that they can expand in other sectors also. Cultural diversity can also be used
by company which will be beneficial for the company to work in the Tanzania culture as they
have a different culture, religions and belief by this company had to face a lot as they couldn't get
through the local peoples needs and requirement couldn't able to understand the language of

these peoples which is the major hurdle in their working and allows the company to work
without concentrating regional language. But if the company hires the local skilled people they
could have a regional employee who could easily let them understand the needs, religions,
culture and belief of Tanzanian people so they could perform their operational and managerial
task easily and the projects can be completed successfully and before the time without hurting
the emptions of local people. The company's manager must have to focus on the organization
structure also and should have a leader for all their employees so that they could work under the
close monitoring of their leader that the task perform by them must be appropriate and render the
best work output. By applying this theory HG could easily met this issue and overcome the bad
impact of these issues and talented employee could be appointed to the company which can be
helpful for the future growth of company. It can be further analysed by the performance of the
employees towards the company. It will also be helpful in reducing the conflicts among the
employees so that there are no bias among the company's employees and they can have a
effective work performance for attaining the goal of company.
While working for podcast related with case study of Brett Jones in Tanzania, a team is
formed for producing podcast I had managed the all things distributed the work among the team.
All team members are required to work for their particular role and responsibility which are
being given to them. They are being monitored and controlled by me. Which is helpful in
managing the tasks easily and then further the allocation of task would be done according to the
skills and knowledge of the employees so that they can perform their task effectively which can
be further fruitful for the company. The organization structured will be well maintained by me so
that it can further have a proper functioning of operations activities within the organization. I will
be communicating with my employees on daily basis and asking them if there is any issue with
the employee so that it can be sought out by me on time so that the work of the team member
wouldn't be affected due to that. I also try to provide guidelines and full information related to
the task to employees so that they couldn't have any problem in performing the task. I will play
the role of best leader and assist my employees with proper guidelines related with their task.
The things which should be improved by me is the time management and setting target. I could
not be able to manage the task timing this how sometimes I lack due to that and employee
couldn't be bale to perform the task on time and the work delays and thus further it created a
workload over the employees. And thus the employees will suffer from work pressure and so the

productivity of employees will be reduced due to that. If productivity of employees reduced this
could reduce the overall productivity of company also. The targets are to be set by me for the
employee which is being further achieved by the employees in the pre mentioned time period. So
if the employees have a appropriate set target within the given time period they could easily
attain the objective for the company and get through with the company's growth. The effective
management of the leader is helpful in getting through with the appropriate decision making for
the company's profit maximization. This could be more effective if company dose it with
evaluative strategies for the adaptive output. By this I could develop a positive work culture
within the organization so that it will allow employees to work for the growth and revenue of the
company. So by this I could work well in the team and attains the maximum output from the
employees by allowing them to work under the positive work culture and distributing the task
according to the particular skills and knowledge so that the employees could render their best for
the companies. This all will be helpful in the overall growth of the company and allows the
company to effectively complete the task on time.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that communication and negotiation are very
important factors which affects the overall working of the company. Company should follow this
which will helpful in maintaining the better employee relationship so that employee could work
fro the betterment of the company. The conflicts among the employees must be solved so that it
couldn't affect the overall working of employees. The employees should be rendered with the
positive work environment for working. Skilled and talented employee must be recruited for the
company so that they could be the potential resource for the company and company can sustain
growth by this.
