There are many issues occur during securing the backup Media which are described

There are many techniques and methods that can be used to improve the security of
the backup media which are the following:
 Companies and individuals should develop security policies related to the
backup plans and control physical devices
 Involve data backup systems in the disaster recovery and incident response
plans
 Provide accessibility of the backup software to only limited employees and
individuals
 Use advanced backup plans and technology like cloud computing
 Adopt fireproof and media rated process and reduce the security related issues
 Turn on security tools like antivirus and firewall to detect the unwanted and
traffic signals from the network
 Use a password-based system to secure the backup files and media (Tech Target,
2018).
 Adopt the encryption and cryptography technology and turn on the firewall
software to identify the fraud links and malware from a server
Off-site storage for backups
Off-site backup is defined as a process of backing up the private data and media
to a remote network. Cloud backup and tape backup both are a very common type of

off-site techniques which are used by the companies and users to secure their personal
information (Tech Target, 2018). In the cloud backup, a copy of the data file is
transferred over a server to an off-site network and the third party provider’s hosts that
network but an enterprise can also own it. In the tape backup process, media files are
copied from the main storage to the tape section and protect their important files from
hackers. For off-site data protection, a company would then transport the tape
cartridges to another place.
