INTRODUCTION
In the modern era, use of internet has been revolutionized the computer and
communication between people to a greater extent. Further, with the invention of telegraph,
radio, telephone etc. has developed the capabilities for the mechanism of information
dissemination and also a great medium for the people to communicate with others sitting at
different geographic locations (Berners-Lee, and et.al., 2010). Moreover, with the evolution of
internet it has attained the benefits of sustained investment to research and development of
information infrastructure. It has also developed the market for buying and selling the products
by internet through several online stores and applications. Further, in this essay the problems
relating to the security and privacy of data by using different applications are been studied in
detail. In addition to this, the different issues which are faced by the innovations are been
discussed. Moreover, the solutions are determined for all the problems and issues faced with the
internet.
Issues of security while using Web social media apps
With the pace of time, the popularity of social media such as YouTube, Facebook, twitter
etc. has increased to a higher extent. Earlier the youngsters were being addicted to these sites but
in the recent time the old and infant generations are also becoming an active participant of these
applications. Moreover, with the higher popularity of the social applications, the paradigm of
communication is been changed from the traditional ones which included face-to-face or using
telephone to the current running social media web applications (Lee and Tsai, 2010). Thus, with
the benefit from social media, there are number of disadvantages of it. The excessive use of
social media is creating the ethical and professional level problems. As the social media runs the
ambit from personal communication within friends to the professional communication with the
colleagues and clients. At times, both the contexts overlap when they come across through social
media. Thus, because of this it develops with many controversies and problems. Mainly the
media was designed for social communications which was considered as private and protected
area. But with the inherent nature of current scenario of social media it has noted that the
information posted becomes viral to public and no more is protected and under the control of the
presenter. As people are misusing the technology and posting unethical things which is giving a
bad impact on the young generation (Berners-Lee, 2010). It is also creating problems related to

security and privacy. As with the developed technology some people are hacking the sites which
is becoming dangerous as there personal data is being leaked and circulated among the public.
The image of women is also becoming risky day by day as some people out of revenge or some
personal grudges are putting their pictures or data which is not supposed to be posted on the
public platform. It is also a important cause of concern in professional terms as the confidential
data is being saved in the computer and it can be destroyed or misused by anyone. Thus, it can
become a huge loss for the company or for the individual (Ercan, 2010). Further, the sites which
will confined with adult use only are operated by the teenagers which result in destroy of
traditional values and beliefs. The following are the major disadvantages of social media
networking:
 Cyberbullying and crimes against children- With the use of social media, some people
are exposing children or girls to other forms of harassment or even inappropriate contact.
This act is destroying the image of innocent children.
 Fraud and scams- Now days with the development of technology, the number of scams
and frauds are increasing. For example, there are some companies which are fraud and
ask people to submit security money so as to be employed with them. Thus, they take the
money and do not give employee them (Ahmad, 2016).
 Hacking- The personal as well as private data can easily be traced or hacked by the
information shared on the internet. The person who is having the knowledge to hack the
account can easily do it with little information provided to him. Thus it can become a
high financial as well as personal loss.
 Security issues- In the present time, most of the security agencies have the access to
people personal accounts. This can result to a greater destruction of personal and
financial data. They cam misuse the data and can post on the internet which can affect the
personal life of the person (Schaffers and et.al., 2011).
 Addiction- The people are becoming more addictive towards the use of social media
applications. This is highly affecting the personal and professional lives of the people.
This is also wasting the time of the individual which can be used for doing some
productive work (Bareither and Pollard, 2011).

 Less real life interaction- With the popularity of social media, the face to face
interactions between people is diminishing. Now everyone is communicating on What-
sap, Facebook and other means (Lee and Tsai, 2010).
 Cheating and relationship issues- People are choosing the platform of social media to
find their life partners. This is becoming very serious matter of concern as some people
show their fake identity and blackmail other to pay money otherwise they may disclose
their personal stuff which must not be shown to public.
 Health issue- The excessive use of internet is also having a negative effect on the health
of people. Children are getting addicted to these which have reduced their physical
activities of going out and play. This has made them fat and unhealthy (McWilliam and
et.al., 2013).
 Reputation- Excessive usage of social media can have a negative impact on the image of
the individual. As now days people are posting every single thing on the internet which
reveals the details of person to public which sometimes may effect the image of the
person.
Issues faced due to new innovations and technologies
Countries are growing at a higher speed with the latest technologies and innovations.
Now days everyone is dependent on the use of updated technology for completing there work. It
can be said that the people are so much dependent on the technology that they cannot live a
single day without getting the comforts by them. Thus individuals are highly addicted to the new
technologies and innovations such as television, mobile phones, radio, printing press etc. Thus
these are having a number of benefits but at the same time there are several issues which are
been by the people (Garrett, 2010).
Printing press is very important as it keeps the person updated with the current issues and
development of the country. It also provides with the knowledge about different countries as well
about certain person. By reading the newspaper people come to know about various things which
are been running around the world. It includes number of topics such as current affairs, sports,
astrology, jobs, advertisement etc. It can be said that it is a complete package which can prove to
be a great advantage for a person. Thus, it keeps the individual up to date with the current
scenario. However, with number of benefit there are certain social, ethical and legal issues which
are faced by the people (Atzori, Iera and Morabito, 2010). Social issues can be stated as if the

editors post something about the celebrities or politicians which can hurt their feelings can
become a social issue. Thus the people must ensure that the right information is printed which do
not hurt someone's sentiments. It is also very important that false information must be prohibited
as it may damage the person's image. The editors must also be concerned about not posting the
things which may be attached to their personal life. As newspaper is read by maximum number
of people it is important to be cautious about printing the data about anyone or anything. Ethical
issues can include the religious or belief factor which may hurt the sentiments who are attached
to it. Sometimes the article is been posting which is against some caste or religion which may
arise with greater conflicts within the people. Thus it is important for the employees working in
press that the adequate data must be posted which do not contain the data which is against the
beliefs or values of the certain religion. Legal issues may include the ones which proves to be
unlawful in the eyes of government. If something which is against the law and is posted for
certain person becomes the act of defamation which may arise with number of problems related
to it (Schaffers and et.al., 2011).
Television is the most popular means of communication. It assist in improving the world,
triggers the imagination level of the people, encourages for education, best platform for
promotion of products, films etc. Thus It is considered to be one of the most effective means of
communication. Further, with the advantages there are many problems faced in terms of legal,
social and ethical. Social issues linked with the television can be stated as the problems which
the people are facing at the individual level. As now days people are highly addicted to the T.V
serials which is causing an adverse affects on the behaviour and beliefs of the people. Generation
from the infant to the old age all are having high interest in watching the things shown on the
T.V. Further, the channels which are for adults are seen by the teenager which have a bad impact
on them (Nielsen and Pernice, 2010). Legal and ethical issues for the television may be defined
as the ones which may effect the beliefs of people as well as which are unlawful in the eyes of
law. There are several comedy serials which are making fun of religious people or funny
portraits of someone which may hurt the sentiments of the individuals which are associated with
them. Thus it is very important to show the serials which may be helpful or make them feel good.
Further, there are several channels which copy others logo fully or partially which is unlawful act
done by them. It can deter the image of certain channels by copying to them. Thus it is important

to follow all the legal norms which are defined by the government in context of showing the
things which are to be shown on television.
Issues faced due to web technologies
The development of innovations and technologies is having positive as well as negative
impact on the people. As with the usage of internet and other means, the people are becoming
more addicted to them which is leading to number or problems and controversies. Thus it can led
to several social, legal and ethical problems. The following are discussed below in detail:
 Social issue- As with the use of excessive means of web such as Facebook, twitter etc.
has created a number of problems. People are not less interacting with others which has
reduced the social life of everyone. All the family members or relatives are only linked
with each other through social media only. It is erased the identity of the person as from
the teenage to the old people, everyone can be found on the internet (McWilliam and
et.al., 2013). Further, some individuals are posting wrong information on social media
which can have ill-effects for others. Because of it, there is a greater loss in primitive
forms of interaction with others. Now days even the small children are having the social
life which can harm their personality as a whole. Moreover, most of the relationships are
formed on internet which are mainly fake and can destroy the lives of many people.
Children are taking wrong steps by getting involved with some other person on the
internet.
 Legal and ethical issues- With the use use of web, the countries are developing at a
higher extent they are getting the right and useful information for their research and
development program. Thus, it is also proving negative as they are creating legal as well
as ethical issues. The main problem faced is that the usage of other copyrights for a
certain thing is increasing day by day. As it is the legal right of the person to keep their
copyrights with themselves and can enjoy it. But the people are copying their logos or
something which is unlawful in the rights of government. Further, the people are
attempting the act of piracy for certain software, films and music by getting the use of
internet. Moreover, now days fraud and identity theft is becoming more popular. The
thefts are stealing the information through internet like personal details which help them
them to get the access to different things (Lee and Tsai, 2010). Further, individuals also

hack the bank details of the people, because of which the people are bearing a huge loss
in financial terms.
CONCLUSION
From the above essay it can be concluded that the usage of internet is having number of
advantages as well as disadvantages. It can highly affect the personal and professional lives.
Further, it is a great help for the country in terms of research and development but at the same
time it causes destruction as people are misusing the technology and are attempting unlawful
acts. In addition to this, the innovations such as television, printing press, radio etc. have various
social, ethical and legal issues which may harm the life of people. In addition to this, these issues
are also harming the usage of web as it is excessively used by everyone.
