The oil crisis ofthe 1980s had a serious impact on the Peruvian Economy. The next 20 years were disastrous forthe country as Peru was subjected to both addressing the internal as well as the externalproblems. Addressing these problems required huge efforts by the Peruvian Authorities. ThePresidents of Peru in the 1980s and 1990s were also involved in some scandalous and violationof human rights. The GDP of the country fell and the World Bank recognized Peru as one of thepoorest Countries (Sexton, 2017). The situation was grim for the Peruvian authorities in the 1980s. The PeruvianAuthorities realized that the only way to prosperity was to make reforms in the economic policy.The emphasis was paid to focus more on monetary stability and attract investors to invest intothe country. The market was opened up and Peru witnessed globalization in large scale. The
