Executive Summary
This report will discuss about the security measures that are taken for better management of the
breaches that are occurring in the system. Proper understanding of GDPR is also provided.
Business e model of Facebook will also be provided. Revenue model will also be discussed.
Issues that are faced by Facebook are also stated.

Introduction
Facebook is one of the leading social networking that has been growing ever since its
introduction among the global mass. Despite this high popularity, security breaches are still
present and this have been one of the major concern. Facebook business making has not been
very good due to high competition. This report will provide proper understanding of the business
processing of Facebook.
Question 1
The steps that are taken by Facebook to mitigate the security issue includes provisioning of
newer and tough policies for the third-party application developers. This system will prevent the
third-party web developers to invade the lesser secured portions of Facebook. This updating of
the policy will ensure that downloading of the personal details will get difficult and this will
ensure that personal data tracking will get difficult without proper authentication of the genuine
users. Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation policy will be affecting
Facebook in a positive manner.
The policies that are to be implemented includes the fact that Facebook provides service
regarding data storage until the account is deleted. In case a proper photo id is provided during
uploading of photo the id is stored for 30 odd days and then the id is deleted (Montgomery
2015). After deletion of the account the data that are present in the Facebook, will get deleted.
The information’s that have been shared from the account and is not created by the account
holder will not be deleted.

Question 2
GDPR is a new European privacy regulation that got into effect in the year 2018. GDPR will
provide proper better control and on the data that are personal in nature. This implementation of
the GDPR will also help in keeping the data that are stored in the accounts of an individuals in a
manner that will provide more security to the data that are stored in the database of the
networking sites. The GDPR follows the management of the protection rules that are set up by
the EU data protection rule. The users get more efficient control over the online information and
maintain privacy.
The security requirement of GDPR are as follows: -
1. Identity and Access Management
Having a proper IDA control will help in providing a barrier in accessing to the data that are
present in personal accounts. The principles that are important includes the fact that the data that
are present will stay secured.
2. Data Loss Prevention
With the relevancy to the GDPR, DLP will help in preventing the loss in data that are stored
in the database of the network. DLP prevents loss of personal data as they intend in addition of
layers. This helps in restricting the process and transmission of personal data exterior to the
network (Albrecht, J.P., 2016).
3. Encryption and Pseudonymization
This section ensures that field level encryption is performed and this is the main prospect that
will help in better prosecution of privacy and security of the data.

Business e model of Facebook
The key partners that are involved in the e business model of Facebook are news articles, TV
shows and advertisements. The key activities include web developments and maintenance. App
development is also one of the main activities. Game development and maintaining user data is
also another key activity. The key resources are platform, network and technology. The value
proposition includes connection with people around the world. Communication with the
connected ones are also the value proposition. The customer relationship includes assistance
through the websites (Gatautis, Elena Vitkauskaite and Mark de Reuv 2017). The channels
include Internet, website and developer tools. The customer segments are users of the Facebook.
The cost structure includes data maintenance, development, marketing and customer service. The
revenue stream includes revenue from promoted posts, revenue from games and revenue from
advertisements.
Revenue model of Facebook
Advertising revenue model is used by Facebook. Revenue model of Facebook includes the
methodology of gaining revenue with the help of the advertising that is being posted in the
platform of Facebook.
Facebook business benefits and challenges
The benefits are that the number of users is very high and hence the over and the revenue
collection will also be very high. The main challenge in the business process includes presence
of excess competition in the global market after the introduction of different social networking
sites.

The issues that are faced by Facebook are as follows: -
1. High Competition: Due to the introduction of several social networking sites, Facebook has
been facing a distribution in the audience base.
Mitigation process: The mitigation process that can be implemented includes introduction of
innovation in the platform, in order to bring in uniqueness in the project (Fox and Moreland
2015).
2. Data Privacy: It is claimed that Facebook does not have a robust security infrastructure and
hence breaching of data is one of the major issues.
Mitigation process: Implementation of GDPR and introduction of tough policies in order to
keep the third-party application developers away from gaining data in an unauthorized manner
(Shakya and Christakis 2017).
3. Governance Issues: Due to lack of robustness in the database of Facebook government has
been colliding with the Facebook maintenance and the goodwill of the platform has also been
decreasing.
Mitigation process: By having a proper relation with the government and gain back the trust
of the common people.
Conclusion
From the report it can be stated that Facebook is no longer the sole business maker in the
field of social networking sites. This leads to the fact that the prosecution of the entire system
performs better with the help of the recommendations that are stated in the report.
