and hazards. They need to showcase their knowledge on self-awareness in
order to promote the concept of emotional intelligence and resilience at the

Challenges
One of the greatest challenges that the nurses
encounter is ethical challenge. Nurses play a critical
role in providing healthcare to the patients with
various health issues. Maintaining the
confidentiality of the patients sometimes create
ethical challenges. Emotional intelligence is a
significant predictor of perception of the ethical
behaviour of the nurses. The ethical challenges
raised can create many issues such as,

•Hamper individual and organizational
accountability
•Demote patients’ safety

Strategies
By building resilience, it is possible to overcome ethical
challenges at the workplace. While some of the challenges are

•Focussing on building a strong professional relationship with
patients.
•Staying honest and truthful to the patients.
•Following the rules and regulations of ethics in the clinical
settings.

Conclusion
Nurse Managers play an essential role in maintaining patients’ safety overcoming all the ethical challenges. By building individual resilience in the workplace,
nurses can overcome ethical challenges. Promoting understanding and awareness of the principles of patients’ safety can be helpful in this regard. If all the
ethical challenges are avoided then it will help the nurses to build a successful career, there will be an improvement in the patients’ health outcome and the
