INTRODUCTION
Self-awareness is the ability that focuses on ourselves. Self-awareness is given people
thought, emotion, and action which don't align with social standards. Highly self-awareness
people can objectively self-evaluate and manage their own emotions (Bush, (2020)). Self-
awareness is a line of behaviour with own values. Self-aware people can't adjust to their
circumstances as they make their path and achieve their targets in difficult situations. Self-
aware people are mentally stable they know what they are doing and what the result comes
from the work. They can't rely on others and focus on themselves. This report discusses self-
awareness and the role of self-awareness in career success.
MAIN BODY
A definition of self-awareness and why it is important to the development of leadership
and/or management capability
Those peoples are highly self-aware they can interpret their actions and feelings
objectively. It is the skills that develop people many people spiral into emotion they can't
interpret their feelings in front of every person they follow other people. Self-aware is
important because it allowed them to assess their growth. Self-awareness is of two types.
Public self-awareness- when people appear in front of others and think about how
people think about themselves. Public awareness peoples follow social norms and behave in a
socially acceptable (Adams, (2018)). Self-awareness gives a benefit also dangerous because it
taps into self-consciousness. Those people who are high in public self-awareness spend much
time in wearing about what other people think of them.
Private self-awareness is the internal state which means it is an introspective
approach. People think about their self their feelings, reaction, and curiosity belong to their
work. When people are internally tensed it will show in their work their body structure and
their work is also reflected in tension.
Self-awareness helps in the greatest career success if the people know what the career
are and they are self-aware about the career so they achieve their target. These people are
making their road map for achieving their career goals they first make a list of
accomplishment goals which are small and large when they complete accomplishing the task

then they find the strength which is necessary for career growth. Self-aware peoples identify
on strengths and weaknesses they know what their career objectives are and what are they
need the achieving career goals (Rehman & Iqbal, (2020)). They also make up a plan for
improving qualities which need in career growth.

Three core topics advise on a career increase self-awareness. These topics will help to
know the actual situation faced by people and learn more information.
Receiving and giving effective feedback
It means to listen without interrupting a person and observe information if concentrate
on listening and understanding rather than being defensive and focusing on own response.
When listening to all information then be aware of own responses the body language and
voice speak louder than their words (Bush, Bell & Middlewood, (Eds.). (2019)). Try to avoid
barriers and send a positive response. Be attentive and indicate own values and something
that say its own ease. Be open with a new idea and different opinion and understand the
message especially before giving a response don't repeat any kind of line which reduce
impact. Reflect and decide the consequences of response. Follow-up on feedback will simply
involve implementing suggestions.
Giving or receiving feedback, learning to work in a team and emotional intelligence
gives me positive factors myself. Career growth needs to become self-awareness (Bush,
(2018)). When I work in a group at that time, I learn various things from my team leader
about how they workflow in the team and reduced conflict which creates coordination among
the team member. I see feedback from the leader and I try my best to learn to respond like my
leader. I learn how to manage work in a team it gives me self-awareness of the team and also
strength which are very important for the team (Hechanova, Caringal & Magsaysay, (2018)).
Emotional intelligence is part of self-awareness because it includes 8 aspects of intelligence
that create self-awareness in the work. Emotional intelligence is very important to create
competency in work so I learn various things from emotional intelligence.
Self-awareness is focusing on positive traits along with competencies. Receiving
feedback is the most effective way to gain awareness of skills it gives strength and shows
weakness. When people give feedback according to their performance it shows weakness in
their work self-aware people take feedback positively and evaluate themselves. Giving and
receiving feedback is the part of work where self-aware people give feedback according to

the Self-awareness makes people face personal weakness and limits. It increases the strength
of peoples while giving and receiving feedback.
Cultural intelligence
Cultural intelligence is found to be an important ability which is necessary to adopt
and recognise cultural differences. Organisational employers analyse that every day the
diverse nature of the organisation is rapidly growing which becomes very problematic to
maintain harmony in the culture of the company. This is the reason that individuals should
understand the importance of cultural intelligence.
Cultural intelligence becomes a past, present, or future of our life. Culture drive
growth and it held small groups of peoples into society. Most of the society increasing by
what they look around. Various cultures are represented in jobs, Schools, and our community
so every person is celebrating their own culture. Cultural awareness is impact communication
because what people say is reflect their culture some people come from different countries.
Their language is different their pronunciation of words is different it shows the culture. Self-
awareness for cultural intelligence is showing respect for other cultures. It gives a positive
strength to humans along with logical knowledge. Self-awareness is very important in culture
because it gives positivity to people. People can’t blindly trust other cultures if they are self-
aware of their culture no one people easily manipulate other cultures.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligent intelligence is the ability to understand someone's use and
manage of own emotions it reduces stress and gives positive waves in the mind it gives
strength to overcome challenges and diffuse conflict. Emotional intelligence is built good
relationships and success in personal and professional work people achieve their goals.
Emotional intelligence is referring to feelings. When people are emotionally intelligent so
they easily grapes opportunities without wasting time, the decision is very firmed there is no
influence on others. Emotional intelligence is developed and aware of the various point which
considers developing skills between a need in adulthood.
Peoples are emotional intelligence then they are not influenced by other reactions and
emotions. They know what they do and what the result comes from being emotionally
intelligent. Peoples are self-aware about their own they know what is right and what is wrong
they also make positive decisions. The successful person needs emotional intelligence and

their life.
Self-awareness for emotional intelligence
Self-awareness improves the ability to accurately identify own emotion. Now people
understand the reactions of others and give responses according to their minds. Emotional
intelligence is a very necessary part of a person. When people are emotionally intelligent it
gives a reaction as per their experience, they can't influence others the reaction is very
positive. Emotional intelligence people built a strong identity in front of various people they
can't harm own self and give influence a wide population.
When people work at the workplace, they are self-aware about their work they don’t
influence other people. Emotional intelligent people enjoy their work and learn various skills.
They avoid stress because they are not influenced by other work. Intelligence people support
others they can't discourage themselves but appreciate others' work.
Giving or receiving feedback
Overview of the context of target job/profession/industry/sector
I am an advertising executive where I run campaigns it is part of my job it is a not
normal job it needs excitement and a position to execute the task. I reach this goal to follow
various steps (Parvin, (2019)). I started as a turtle I would less interaction with people they
give less feedback it hid my identity in front of people. To increase my pace I need to
necessary change my interactions way so I increase family in the groups I also move on
stage. I need more work and transparency in my work. The trait is describing my capability
and authority it increases my critical thinking and maturity in the facade. Work in my own
error area so I can display my best ability in front of everyone.
These 16-personality tests find me as a campaign or described I am an extravert or
open-minded. This approach gives me a meaningful and emotional connection with people I
observed that I try attention in a group and this attention is motivated me I am an
authoritative person and in most cases, people accept my authority. It gives me the strength to
lead most actions it is a natural trait for campaigns I identified as a leader among the group.
As a campaign my strength such as curiosity and communication skills perception
which give a direct impact on my professional choice in the advertising industry. The
advertising industry is very creative the success of this industry is the creativeness and

innovation which need by the client. These steps followed me and become an advertiser
executive and I thoroughly enjoy my work (Sepuru & Mohlakwana, (2020)). Self-awareness
is very necessary for career success it gives strength to follow one path. I am very slow and
do not know my career goal but continuously improving myself is giving my career success. I
worked on my skills and was self-aware of myself which give me continuous feedback on my
work and I improve myself which give me strength and positivity to create new things in my
life.
CONCLUSION
As per about discussion, I am a very slow learner but regularly improving myself is
creating a new change in my life. I learn various things from my work where I am lacking in
my field that time my managers give motivation or support me to improve myself. Self-
Awareness is the key to career success which is the key to happiness. When people know
what are they becoming and what the procedure is to reach their goal so they are self-
motivated and self-aware of their goals. Continuously improving and working hard on goals
give success. In this report, I discussed my journey which I have done in my career and
achieving my career growth goal.

good at many skills but there are some areas in which I need to work on. It is important for
me to analyse my strengths and weakness so that I am able to make a further plan for future
action. I identified that my attitude is good. In addition to this, there are many important tests
which I did including 16 personality tests. At that test, I identified that I am a type of

extraverted. That means I am a kind of open-minded person and extra vote which is really
very helpful for the future because now every individual requires this type of quality in order
to deal with situations. It is easy for making connections with people. I also found that I have
a natural treatment of a leader which is really very helpfully as it is the best source of
encouragement (Adler & Laasch, (2020)). I found that I am very ambitious and confident
which is necessary and will be very helpful for my future career. This type of nature is
necessary to deal with cultural intelligence. Cultural intelligence is the ability which is
required by each and every individual so that they are ready to work with different
backgrounds of people which is not easy. Everyday diversity is increasing and that's why
organisation requires those employees who are able to accept the diverse nature. They are
required to accept the culture of individuals and should be ready to work with them. This type
of ability means cultural intelligence (Karami-Akkary & Hammad, (2019)). I am also found
that strong critical thinking skills are necessary for an individual to work in an organisation.
These types of strengths are very helpful in developing cultural intelligence because
when an individual is confident and ambitious in their life they need becomes easy for them
to develop any kind of scale and knowledge. Cultural intelligence has become the need of
organisations and it will focus on effective leadership and management. So it is very sure that
cultural intelligence needs to develop but it is also similarly important that an individual
should know how to develop cultural intelligence. In the process of developing cultural
intelligence, an individual requires the skills and attributes which make them a teamwork
person and a collaborative person. With ambitious and confident skills and individuals can
definitely be able to develop these types of skills because they will be ready to take any kind
of skills and knowledge. I also found that leadership skill is very important as it is also
playing an important role in cultural intelligence (Hallinger, (2018)). When an individual has
a leadership trade then they are able to understand other opinions and viewpoints which
makes the process easy to develop cultural intelligence. I am not a judging person as I try to
analyse each and every situation first and then take the right decision. I am a kind of
prospecting person and found to be taking interest in social engagement.
Apart from my strength, I have many weaknesses as well which is necessary to
evaluate because it will help me to take the right decisions for improving my weaknesses and
make their strength by taking the right actions (Jamieson & Donald, (2020)). But it requires
an effective evaluation and analysis of my own skills and knowledge so that I am able to find
the weaknesses. From the analysis of psychometric tests and another important test, there are

some weaknesses which I found that I need to improve. I identify that when I do routine work
then it creates a situation of boredom which results in making mistakes. I analysed that my
growth frequencies were quite low which means I required more time to develop skills and
knowledge which becomes a very problematic situation for me because without it I will not
able to develop cultural intelligence skills. Due to this I also found that I am not able to work
with people because of differences in the growth capacity. It will affect my career growth
rate. This is the main reason that every person should require to analyse and evaluate their
strength and weakness which helps them to give an overview of their future plans.
Implications of current skills, attributes and characteristics in relation to target
job/profession/industry/sector
I analysed my skills and attributes and that's why I came to the decision that I am
ready for my target job. Firstly it is important to clear out that I am looking for a career in the
advertising and media industry. I found that this type of industry is required all skills found in
a campaigner. I already have many strengths as a campaigner which include curiosity,
communication skills, enthusiasm and perception that provided a direct and positive impact
on the advertising and media industry. I also found that creativity is very helpful as it is a rule
to succeed in life especially and the advertising and communication industry and this is the
main reason that I observed and noticed that does career is best suited for me and my skills
will definitely provide a positive impact on my career growth (Steckelberg & Harrer, (2021)).
I also noticed that my weaknesses which include people-pleasing, overly optimistic, overly
accommodating and restlessness will not provide a negative impact on my professional front
as they will provide a positive impact. I already trained to accommodate client requirements
which increases my success chances in this career path. Generally, it is identified that
campaigners are believed to be a jack of all that exactly fit with me. I have 7 years of work
experience in which I have worked as a filmmaker, journalist, advertising professional and
writer which will provide me with a positive impact on my target job. I identify that my
personality is perfectly suited to my choice of career. My personality as a campaigner is very
well suited to my profile of work special in the case of an advertising executive.
In order to become successful in my career, I need to focus on my skills and attitude
which should match my career choice. As I want to become a part of the advertising and
media industry that will definitely work for me because I am the kind of person who is
always ready to work in the advertising and media industry (Bhanot, (2018)). I found that my
skills and knowledge will be very helpful to achieve my target job. For example, I am a

person who is very creative in each and every field. Creativeness is the success key of
advertising because every advertising organisation is looking for a person who is ready to
find creative ways of promoting their goods and services in the market so that people can
easily attract them. In addition to this, an individual is also required to use the creativity and
effective way which I know to use. This is still will definitely provide me with a positive
impact on my choosing career. I will be able to provide new and innovative ideas to the
organisation in the respect of advertising. I also found that communication skills such I have
will be very beneficial for my career or a job. it is very well known by every individual that
communication skills are important for each and every individual in their life. This is the
main reason that it requires to be very effective for the purpose of conveying a message with
the right meaning to another individual. I already have effective communication skills which
will provide me with a positive impact on my job. For example, I am doing a job in an
advertising and media company where I need to communicate with the consumers about the
products and services of my company. If I am not good at communication skills then how can
I be able to convey the message to the consumers? Communication is playing a very
important role in advertising and the media industry because it is all about communication.
They generally want to communicate to the customers so that day can promote their goods
and services and attract them to their organisation.
