This article discusses the importance of self-concept, social comparison theory, internal and external conflict, impression management, and online presence. It also provides tips on how to manage impressions online and attract people.

1. Out of all the self-concepts, the most important for me are my physical condition and
appearance, social traits and my talent.
The physical condition is important because it helps the humans to stay healthy and good
looking. It will help me be fit and it will also benefit me in gaining no disease ever. If a
person is healthy, he or she can do anything but with any sort of disease, no one can ever aim
for their goal or if aimed then the speed would be very slow (Mc Connel & Strain, 2007).
The social traits are important because it helps in communicating with people. The better the
communication is, the better involvement a person feels when he or she is in a community.
Individuals can take their decision in a more ethical and better way with the help of the social
traits. The communication would always be effective as having the traits help a person do it.
The importance of talent is because people with talent are considered to be key factors which
drives the success for any person or a company. Talent makes a big difference in achieving
success.
2. The social comparison theory makes people make the tendency they can have for
making the comparisons with self and others. All the self-concepts could easily be
inflected by the social comparison theory. If psychology is concerned, people tend to
conform to others usually as they feel the need to be a part of the group. Self-concepts
can also be influenced by the social comparison as everyone wants to be the best in
todays world be it physical appearances, talent or any other self-concept (Hadley &
Hair, 2008).
In terms of the social psychology, the reflected appraisal is taken to the as one of the
manipulations on the growth of self-concept. This term is the process where one imagines the
way other people sees him. In many situations, the way one believes that other perceives
them as the way they seem themselves. There are several factors which influences the
individual’s self-assessments. The esteemed managers look at one’s work and delivers a
glowing review. Receiving appraisals from different sources can play a useful role in the
individuals life as to how he or she is affected by the process. Relationships with the family
can also play a role in reflected appraisal.
3. Internal conflict always will refer to the internal struggles which a person goes
through. The person may struggle with some kind of emotions like fear, ignorance etc.
Example: Internal conflict is significant for characterization as flaws and the other

internal struggles make the person more lively and sensitive and also sympathetic
(Gultekin & Metin, 2011).
External conflict will always refer to the conflicts in between the character and the forces
which comes from the external life. It can be between the character and some groups too.
It also can be between the character and the abstract forces which are of course external.
Example: Bleak and hostile atmosphere in the novel.
Both types of forces can be beneficial as per the finding as they create:
Tension: As the uncertainty is there in the conflict, one wants to know the way it is resolved
and keep on finding out.
Stakes: The conflicts advices that worst case results and creates urgent resolutions.
Development of the character: Dramatic situations keep on happening in conflicts and also
confrontations happens which tests the people or characters and cause them to adapt and
learn.
4. With the help of the impression management, once can easily manage the impressions
of other people on oneself.
Several ways in which a person can manage the impression of oneself on others are:
 By dressing well, a person will create a good impression on others. Clothing makes a
lot of difference in first impressions mostly.
 In case of a person is stays tuned with the whereabouts of the group or society or the
world too, then he or she can easily make the impress others.
 Etiquettes are another way to impress others. Good manners show the upbringing of
the person. It just does not refer to a person but also to his family and culture.
 It is said that the number of languages one knows, the more that person is taken
seriously. Language is a very important part of the communication process. If
languages are learnt by a person, that person will create a good impression on others
always.
 Reading brings a broad mind and a broad sense of life, living and oneself. Voracious
readers know a lot and this intelligence impresses other people too easily.
 If any person takes a genuine interest in the conversation or take other people
seriously, he also will be taken seriously in the end (Daum, 2018).
 The online presence should be marked nicely as most of the impression is done
online only these days.

5. There are ways to impress people online and even attract them.
 The focus should be attracting people online. One should not target everyone for
attracting but only those people who are genuinely interested in oneself. Good
relationships are those which are genuine and not fake one’s.
 Instead of promoting oneself, one should be informational and conversational because
people do not tend to like people who sell themselves. Such type of people can be
recognized easily and are considered as fake or ingenuine.
 Sharing good experience which affects people in a very huge manner is another good
idea to make good impressions online. The type of person people thinks you are
actually depends mostly on the way one behaves online. This is why people should
think a lot before doing something online as it is seen and observed on media and
online methods.
