INTRODUCTION
Self development is one of the essential factors that is very helpful in increasing person
capability as well as effectiveness in order to conduct task in better and effective manner. There
are different ways through which a person is able improve their performance along with this
achieve set goals (Lyu and et.al., 2019). Self development will assist in improving all those skills
which are weak in order to gain maximum opportunity. This report will includes different
documents that needs to be included with individual portfolio in order to increase their skills and
performance. Apart from this all most effective content is determined.

There are various documents that is includes in creation of a portfolio. Several portfolio
documents are explained below.
1. Research skill – This can be describe as the capability of a person to identify and analyse
most appropriate data. Research skill help a person to identify other need and requirement
as well as taking decision according to full filling needs. This skills will assist ability of a
person to find answer correctly with the motive of solving problem. Research skill refer
to the ability of a person who is able to gather all information regarding the topic, analyse
or evaluate the information in order to identify appropriate solution. It is very important
for a person to work on research skills as well as find more accurate data for taking most
effective decision. Research skill will help a person in academic study and working as a
professional in organisation.
2. Data interpretation – This is capability of a person to interpreted and evaluate the data
in more meaningful manner. Data interpretation can be explain as the process of
analysing or reviewing data in order to gain more information about the topic. There are
different methods that can be used for conducting data interpretation process as well as
identifying the actual meaning of data (McBride, 2019). This included qualitative and
quantitative method of data interpretation. This process is significant for analysing the
purpose of data and concluding data. Data interpretation process is significant for
gaining information that is collected from different sources as well as transferring data
into meaning information for taking important decision.

3. Communication capability – The term communication refers as ability and potential for
a person to convey message and information to others. Effective communication is one of
the most significant skill that is required by a person for conducting different task of
academic study or professional in business (Halberstadt and et.al., 2019). This capability
of a person help in converging thoughts is most effective manner so that receiver
understand each and every aspect of message in correct manner. By developing
communication skills and capability a person is able to create strong relationship with
other as well as successfully attain set goals of action.
4. Reflective learning – Reflective learning is consider as the style of learning in which a
person is identifying what learning is gain through a particular situation. It is very
important for a person to consider reflective learning practices as this will assist in
enhancing their knowledge and information about specific topic. There are different
models and theory that will assist a person in enhancing reflective learning activities and
gain more understanding about the topic. Gibbs is one of the effective model that can be
used by a person by increasing their learning. This model includes different steps such as
experience, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. This process will
assist a person in enhancing their reflective learning activities.
5. SWOT analysis – This is one of the effective tool that can be used by organisation for
identifying internal business environment. SWOT analysis stands for strength, weakness,
opportunity and threats. Identification of these elements will assist in taking better
decision for benefit of business. Strength will include all of those factors that support
business in increasing performance and productivity. Weakness consists of all those
elements which is lacking for organisation and needs to be developed in order to attain
objective. Opportunity includes all those factors that should be improve by organisation
for enhancing performance in market area. Where as threat consist of different elements
of business environment which will lead to have negative impact on business
productivity.
6. Data collection – This term can be explain as the process of collecting and assembling
data from different sources as well as providing more accurate information for
conducting research activates (Hegde, 2019). Data collection process includes various
method and approaches that is crucial for better decision making. Collection of data

includes a proper process which is significant in gathering or assembling information for
various platforms. This can be classified into two parts such as primary and secondary
sources of gathering information.
7. Notes – It is very important for a person to create and develop notes that is required for
further uses (Schonert-Reichl, 2019). Notes can be describe as document that consist of
information about different topic. it is essential for a student to create notes of topic that
is taught in class and this will help in highlighting all those topic that is important. Notes
will includes summary of important data and information that will assist in further
studies. Notes can be used as source of guidance which will help in identifying
information and enhance learning activities in more accurate and proper manner.
8. Critical evaluation – Critical evaluation is one of the crucial aspect that support a
perform in better decision making process as well as gaining appropriate information
about any topic. It is very important for an individual to critically evaluate the topic in
order to identifying each and every element that is related to topic. Critical evaluation can
be describe as the process which consist of in depth detail and understanding about the
topic as well as influence over the decision making process. In order to critical evaluate
any topic an individual have to identify positive and negative aspects that is related to
particular topic. This will help in analysing and evaluating all factors that is related to that
topic as well as support in better decision making process.
9. Team work – This term refer as the performance of different individual in a team. It is

accomplishing one common objective of term. Effective term can be describe as a group
of people which has different skills set and working collectively in order to attain set
objectives. Team work skill will essential for a person as this assist in enhancing
capability of a person to work well with the motive of attaining set objectives. A person
should have team work skill in order to successfully conduct task that is relate to
academic studies as well as office work. Team work assist in improving in person
capability and potential to conduct required task in more effective and accurate manner.
10. PESTEL model – This is one of the most significant tool that is consider by various
organisation in order to determine impact of macro environment on business and its
activities. PESTEL can be describe as political, economical, social, technological,

environmental and legal factor that will lead to have impact on performance of business
activities and conducting various organisational operations. By considering PESTEL
analysis business will be able to determine different elements and factors of external
environment as well as take appropriate decision that will lead to growth and
development of business.
11. Plagiarism – Plagiarism is the activity that refer to copying of some other content or
work in order to represent it as their own. This includes representation of words,
sentences, idea or thought of other original work. Plagiarism is a illegal activity that is a
punishable act. It is crucial for student to avoid plagiarism activity or copying of some
other work while conducting academic work or assessment. There are various sources
through which a person can conduct plagiarism activity such as internet data, books,
previous documents or work, friend’s work etc. It is crucial for a person to can complete
understanding about plagiarism as well as its drawback in order to reduce such activities.
12. Paraphrasing – This can be refer as the capability of a person to rephrase sentence of
ideas in own words. Paraphrasing activity will assist in writing a paragraph with same
meaning but in other work (William and Karen, 2019). This is a ability of an individual
to read and understand the content as well as rewrite it in their own or different works.

Portfolio includes different type of documents that is crucial for a person in enhancing their
learning activities as well as performance. This will support a person in keeping all types of file
an important documents at one place. So that it can be easily used whenever required. There are
different types of portfolio such as physical portfolio and electronic portfolio. I have analysed
that electronic portfolio is a very crucial and important type of portfolio that is significant for a
person to assemble large number of documents as well as record it is right place. E- portfolio can
be describe as the method and approach that is used by an individual to collected different file,
attachments, images, videos, presentation, documents, assessments, CV and various other paper
which is recording in any electronic media. This is very useful method for recording as well as
assembling of large number of documents as well as use it whenever needs. Electronic portfolio

content be used by person any where or any time. This support individual to access recorded
documents when they wants and used is for enhancing their learning practices. I have determined
that there are number of important documents that is crucial for improving learning activities and
performance of a person. Self development is one of the crucial process that will be beneficial
for a person to increase their capability and potential to attain set goals. From all of the above
mention documents team work and reflective learning content is very useful and important in
order to increase my capability and potential. I have determined that team work skill are need in
order to successfully perform academic activities along with this it support in improving
potential for working as professional. Team work skill are helpful in conducting task and
activities in more effective manner as well as accomplishing common goal of a team (Hegde,
2017). In team work I have learned new and different skills such a leadership and time
management. I have analysed that a team is considered to be effective team when each and every
member in contributing there full potential in for accomplishments of set targets. In a team
member support each other in order to overcome weakness as well as improve capability of a
team . Reflective learning can be describe as the learning activity that is will support in
increasing knowledge and understanding of a person. I have determined that reflective learning
in one of the crucial process that is very supportive in enhancing potential and ability of a person
to learn fast and increase their performance. Through reflective learning activity I able to gain
better understanding about certain topic and increase my knowledge about particular situation.
There are several models that is associated with learning of reflective learning and this will assist
in enhancing my learning experience.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that there are different important documents that
is included in portfolio. It is essential for every perform to create their own portfolio in order to
record number of important documents for improving person capability. Reflective learning and
team work will assist a person in the process of self development and assist in accomplishing
their personal as well as professional goals.
