SELF-EFFICACY: ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY1Abstract:Self-efficacy since its introduction has been a centre of research for different authors. Theresearches have searched for the relations between the subject and different industries.Researches have also be done to evaluate the methods by which one’s self-efficacy can beimproved. In the paper, self-efficacy and its factors have been discussed and references fromdifferent scholarly articles have been also taken to reach a conclusion. The paper has beenconcluded by stating reasons for implementation of self-efficacy at a school level. Self-reflection section has also been added to the article to share the author’s experience andopinion about self-efficacy.

SELF-EFFICACY: ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY2Introduction: Efficacy of an individual alone is not enough to complete a task accurately, confidenceon self’s ability is also an important factor. The confidence in one’s ability was defined asself-efficacy by Psychologist Albert Bandura (Mauer, Neergaard & Linstad, 2017). Thisarticle discusses self-efficacy, factors influencing it and its importance in different sectors.The article also provides references to different scholarly articles to get an idea of theresearches that had been done in the past on self-efficacy. The article had been concludedwith some recommendations to improve self-efficacy and author’s opinion over theintroduction of the self-efficacy in the school curriculum.Task 1:Self-efficacy is one’s own perception of their capabilities over performing a specifictask. It does not refer to one’s capability of doing a task but rather concerns over their ownperception about doing a particular task. Clear conception about self-efficacy can be derivedfrom the idea that an individual’s belief over performing an internet related task is internetself-efficacy. The higher the individual belief in one’s ability to perform the internet relatedtask, higher their internet self-efficacy level is and the level does not concern over if they canuse the internet or not. Self-efficacy is important to bring accuracy to an individual’s skill set.It also motivates the observer to attain a higher level of self-efficacy and hence leading to amore productive workplace.Self-efficacy differs from efficacy as the former depends upon the perception ofability to complete the assigned task while the latter concerns over the ability to do the task.Past performance, experience as a spectator, persuasion and some physiological cues are thefactors to affect the self-efficacy level in an individual. If an individual has a good experiencewith a particular task in the past, then her/his self-efficacy level is high but the result will be
