INTRODUCTION
Self reflection is the ability to evaluate and witness their own emotional , cognitive and
behavioural processes as well. It is about taking the time to think about and meditate on
evaluating the serious thoughts on the behaviours, motivations and desires. The present report
will cover discussion about different ways people practice professional to upgrade their skills
and knowledge and stay up to date with the development in the people profession and wider
world of work. In addition to this, the report will cover analysis about the continuous reflection
on the development and performance. Moreover, the report will cover discussion about the
review of how effective will be the reflective journal.
MAIN BODY
Summarise the different a people practice professional can upgrade their skills and knowledge
At the beginning of journal, I have learnt various skills and knowledge which will help
me in my professional world into positive manner. I have worked under a project according to
ethical principles which will guide me how to work within a team into effective manner. Ethical
principles refers to the normative theory which justifies or defends the moral roles and
judgements as well. From the professional point of view, team work is very important will
support in terms of achieving the overall objective and goal of an organisation. The main
difference between ethical principles and professional values is that ethical principles refers to
the codes of behaviour expected by the group in order to which individual belongs. In case of
professional values are those which act as guiding principles in order to influence the work
behaviour. I have learnt that how to cooperate each other and how to dace challenges into
positive manner with the collaborative effort. Working under project also help me in terms of
developing the technical and analytical skill which is very necessary from the professional
environment. Analytical skill act as helpful parameter into context of gathering data and solving
the complex problems as well. It also supports in terms of making the rational decisions and
summarising the data into appropriate manner. Technical skill act as helpful parameter in terms
of raising the self confidence level which will contribute in terms of performing the daily tasks
according to the best ability.

Ongoing reflection on the performance and development
For improving the performance into positive manner and development which needs to be
done which can be done with support of Driscoll model of reflection. This model is a kind of
structured process in order to guide the reflection. The Driscoll model of reflection is based on
the three stem questions which includes What?, So what? And Now what as well. In context to
what stem question, it basically include the description about the experience, what exactly
happened, is there any involvement of someone and was it a good experience.
There are certain challenges and success parameters which I have faced while working
into positive manner. While working on a project there are certain skills which are not easier for
me to learn such as presentation skill, time management skill because these skills need more
practice and patience level in order to enhance my performance into result oriented form. The
main advantage of time management skill is that I can easily manage every aspect of my life and
can maintain the balance between the academics and personal life as well. The disadvantage of
time management is that it act as a time table due to which the life becomes very serious and to
the point as well. Presentation skill helps me in terms of enhancing the professional standard and
capabilities as well. The negative impact of presentation skill is that lack of communication
sometimes puzzles the listeners to sit for longer period of time. I have to face difficulty in
developing these skills because I am making certain mistakes on the continuous basis due to
which I can't perform into successful terms. It has been observed that from twenty days I am
continuously making such mistakes. For recognising my mistakes I have taken actions for it and
accordingly work for it as well. I have achieved the success in such a manner that I have
delivered the project according to the desired requirement and needs as well. I have performed
into well mannered way at the academic level which will help me in developing a successful
position at the professional level.
The stem question of so what basically include how did you feel at the specific moment,
how you react, why did you react this way and who else was involved. When I have achieved
success at professional level then my colleagues appreciate me and motivate me to perform into
better manner from the professional point of view. My positive attitude towards the challenges
also create a qualitative impression on the colleagues due to which I feel motivated towards my
goal. At the time of learning, I have made certain mistakes which help me in terms of giving a

chance to myself to correct it into appropriate manner. I have accepted those mistakes and
practice on it so that it will not repeat into the future.
The stem question of now what basically include what have you learnt from reflecting on
this situation, could you have prevented the negative outcomes, what could you do to better
prepare yourself for this. Now I am feeling more self confident and also have more awareness
about my personality due to which I can perform into more better terms. For the further step I
have to regularly update myself regarding the changes into the professional world so that
accordingly I can upgrade my skills and knowledge as well. There are certain technical skill
which I need to learn according to changing technology and period of time as well. There are
also other employees or colleagues who are on the same position so they require training for new
technologies and also need to update their knowledge as well. I can also use CPD strategies
which help in terms of making my career path more smoother and effective. I have to research
about my field and need to question from my seniors and teachers so that I can make my career
path more stronger and effective as well. I can take support from news letters and online journals
to keep myself updated and knowledgeable as well.
While working at the organisational level of TESCO organisation, I have to follow all the
rules and regulations and work into collaborative terms with the team so that overall objective
can be achieved into positive terms. At the professional level, I have to follow certain code of
practices which include proper communication level, rewarding efforts and engagement of
employees as well. The company basically provides equal opportunity at the organisational level
from the perspective of performance. From the perspective of health and safety act, it basically
includes certain measures such as screens, face coverings hygiene stations and contact tracing as
well. The CIPD code of conduct also gives me the knowledge about defining values and purpose
of the profession along with the behaviours and knowledge needed to put those values into
practice.
Review of how effective you have found this journal approach to the professional development
For the professional development, this journal approach is very effective because it helps
me in developing my skills and knowledge into appropriate manner. When I have upgrade
myself according to changing period of time then it helps me in terms of developing the career
into positive manner and also supports into the professional world as well. So this approach is
very effective in terms of accurate professional development.

CONCLUSION
The above stated report concludes that self reflection is very important because it help in
terms of identifying their own strengths and weaknesses into result oriented form. It has been
concluded that I have learnt various skills, knowledge and upgrade myself according to changing
period of time. There are certain models which help in identifying their current situation and
what they have learnt from their own experience. It is also about the feeling for a specific
moment and their reactions as well and also about what can be learnt from the situation and what
future actions can be taken into positive manner. So self reflection is very important for their
own development and growth as well.
