1.0 INTRODUCTION
Search engine optimization is the practice of making your website more appealing to
search engines in order to increase your online presence. (Sharma et. al., 2019) Search
engine optimization (SEO) frequently entails making minor changes to portions of your
website. These modifications may appear to be small gains when evaluated alone, but
when coupled with other optimizations, they may have a significant influence on your
site's user experience and performance in search engine results (Sharma et. al., 2019).
The essence of search engine optimization is to improve the user experience,
accessibility, search performances and usability of a website (Kritzinger and Weideman,
2013). Users trust search engines, especially when you have a website that shows in the
top results for the phrases the user is looking. This increases the credibility of the website
(Shih et. al., 2013). This work demonstrates how the homepage of a two-page website
was optimized for search engine accessibility, and performance in order to avoid user
irritation and add quality to the website by making it easy to use and load quickly in order
to boost traffic.
2.0 STRUCTURE OF WEBSITE PAGES
The structure of a website relates to how it is organized, or how separate subpages are
linked to one another. For the purposes of this assignment, the website under discussion
consist of only two pages namely the homepage (index.html) and the About Us page. The
website was designed using HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and Cascading Stylesheet. Below
is the diagram and screenshot of both pages
