SEXISM 2 In this very 21stcentury although the mankind and its related aspects have evolved on whether there are some orthodox concepts that still degrades the societal values of the human being on a large front. Sexism is one such aspect which has become an issue of concern for the women in the society. But this bizarre societal aspect has negatively affected the males of the society as well. The study tries to provide a deep insight about sexism that is when Men face sexism. This other side of the aspect has brought in change in thoughts of general people. The respective statement tries to shed light upon the areas in which the there are some practices and policies that are unfair to men. While answering to the question of whether men could be victim of sexism, it is important that this factorial aspect must be looked in a way of unbiasness.. Making burdensome alimony payments to ex wife’s that are well capable of earning a stipulated amount is one such example that well explains the statement in a concrete manner (Fine & Asch, 2018). The policy of making alimony payments was well fine in the era of 50’s but with increasing work participation of women in this era tends to disproportionately harm the men. Another concrete example of gender discrimination in respect to men of the society is during obtaining custody of their children during divorce cases. In maximum of the divorce cases the women attain the custody of their children hence this become biased in some cases which create pressure on the male counterpart. It can be said that the men do have to go through oppression it is not that very men has to gp such thing but there are men which also go from oppression from the same or other genders in this case the action arranged are pretty weak. Prison rapes are common example of male oppression in which males are sexually abused by other prisoner but the following is not taken in to consideration like a rape case on a female (Serano, 2016). Although, both the case are from same base, it differs in statement of gender. The society has not been able to look from the point of view of male oppression. This is because it has majorly been
SEXISM 3 about female protection and how to make female be safe in the society. This creates a biased law, creating a scenario of sexism for the male counterparts (Meyer, 2015). Males in case of oppression and other sexual abuse go from the same situation as the females but there has been no proper judicial focus on such activities around the globe. To create a sense of equality for men and women in terms of law, there needs to be a certain step toward knowledge on these aspects. Feminism and the sense of feminism in the modern day context can be a major cause of to men and they may get treated oppressed (Bates, 2016).
