1INTERVIEW
In most cases, young adults have a hectic lifestyle, as it is the most critical time of their
life where they have to balance career and supporting a family. To them the definition of health
means living a life where they are more likely to smoke cigarettes, binge drink and eat fast food
without much worries (Benotsch et al., 2013). However, to the elderly, health means to stay fit
and independent without losing mobility.
To the young adults in the importance of health means enrolling into some health care
insurance for offsetting the higher cost associated with older age. Whereas the elderly believes in
keeping healthy and keep away from diseases like heart disease, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s
disease and respiratory diseases. They also believe in eating healthy and exercising along with
maintaining a body mass index less than twenty-five
With increasing amount of health diseases among the young adults, they now believe in
staying healthy through proper eating habits, exercise and adequate rest. The young adults now
considers healthy eating as a means of balancing the food they eat thereby ensuring to
energized, strong and nourished (Baym et al., 2014). The elderly on the other hand stays healthy
by radically changing their diet and undertaking regular exercising.
The barriers to the health are sometimes the hectic lifestyle of led by the young adults
that actually prevent them from maintaining healthy food habits. Extreme stress is also a factor
that prevents them from leading healthy life. On the other hand, elderly people by the time they
cross the threshold of 65 either become immobile or are succumbed to some kind of disease.
The similarities between the health perspective of the young adults and the elderly lies in
the fact that both aims at considering a healthy food habit that provide the necessary
nourishment. The difference lies in the fact that the young adults lead a stressful life and
