INTRODUCTION
Business environment in the modern world of 21st century has seen dynamic changes which has
transformed the way of doing business. There are many changes which has taken place in
business environment. Change in technology and people lifestyle has impacted the business
environment. Business environment has changed its traditional concept of doing business and
adopted modern way of doing business to meet the demands of market trends and preferences of
people and to generate huge profit. With the view to succeed in business competitiveness and its
performance a model on leadership style can be adopted which is commonly known as
Shackleton leadership style (Qureshi, and Hassan2019).
This model assists the top level management to lead their employees to perform well with the
purpose to achieve business targets.
This report will highlight the essentials and relevant extract about the crisis emerging in modern
business organisation. In addition, will present and examine various situations pertains to
leadership together with the suggestion for enhancing the performance of business.
TASK
The theory of Shackleton pertains to leadership styles which assist managers to lead their
employees to execute their work with more effective and efficient manner. This leadership style
also provides the way to infuse motivation in their employees which boost energy in them to
work with dedication. It also develops the sense of soldiery which means to maintain the
coordination between other team members and departments for smooth performance in work.
The theory is derived by Shackleton who was a leader and a famous researcher who developed
the leadership requirements and its impact with practice assessment. Shackleton during his
exploration in Antarctica courageously led his crew members to cross the ice in Antarctica to
finish the mission on time. Scackleton was the first one who dared to walk across the Antarctica
together with his crew members who followed him. Scackleton was determined and took the
responsibility of his entire crew members and he himself put forward at front and took the dare
to go ahead and face the situation, his courage made his crew members motivated and they
without fear followed the Scackleton to finish the mission. The act of Skelton shows how
