Adelaide Brighton Limited deals in supplying an array of products to
the construction, building, infrastructure and mineral processing
markets throughout the country.
Principal activities of the company includes the production,
importation, distribution and marketing of cement, premixed
concrete, clinker, construction aggregates industrial lime, and
concrete products.
The company was established in 1882, and is currently trading in
S&P/ASX100 index under the stock symbol- ABC.AX.
S&P/ASX 100
The S&P/ASX 100 (XTO) is an index of stock markets representing
large and mid-cap Australian securities. It includes the ASX top 100
companies through float-adjusted market capitalization and
accounts for 75% of the Australian equity market (March 2019).
The ASX 100 is well diversified with all 11 GICS Sectors represented.
Financials and Materials (which includes resources) dominate the
index, accounting for circa 39% and 16% of market-cap respectively
(March 2017).
How are ASX 100 companies selected?
The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and a committee from
Standard & Poor’s (S&P) select the constituents of the ASX 100 list.
Market capitalization of the companies determines their rank basis
which they will be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange
(ASX). Exchange traded funds (ETFs) and Listed Investment
Companies (LICs) are ignored. The top 100 ASX stocks that meet
minimum volume and investment benchmarks then become eligible
for inclusion in the index.

Rebalances are conducted quarterly in March, June, September and
December. If a significant event occurs (e.g. delisting, merger, etc.)
an intra-quarter rebalance may be conducted. A minimum of two
business days’ notice is given to the market.
