Opioid drugs have the significant role in handling severe pain whether post-
surgery or in the instant result of the severe pain. Morphine, its results, and various
unrealequivalents also have a place in end-of-life care for patient of cancer while the
pain becomes overwhelming. However, in the US there is now the developing crisis of
obsession to opioid prescriptions. The Opioid crisis has developed as public health crisis
in USA, with demoralizing concernsinvolving enhances in Opioid misuse as well as related
overdoes. Because of the opioid use as well as misuse in the pregnancy, the neonatal
abstinence syndrome takes place. The increment in the use of injection drug has
contributed to the range of communicable disease containing hepatitis C as well as HIV. It
can see through the history of medicine that science may be significant part of solution
for solving the public health crisis (Baldacchino, Balfour & Matthews, 2015).
In United States, above 130 persons die every day because of the overdoses on
Opioids. There are around 21% to 29% of patients recommended opioids for chronic pain
misuses them. Approximately 80% of persons use heroin first misused prescription
opioids. The overdoses on opioid in big cities enhance by 54 per cent in sixteen states.
Further, the problem of Opioid is directly related to the social harm theory. The misuse of
and addiction to opioids including prescription pain relievers, synthetic opioids and
heroinis considered asseverecentral crisis, which influences the public health and social
welfare as well as the economic welfare (Kenne, et. al, 2017).
