This essay is prepared to underline the argument on the question that whether the government
should increase the funding for the public sector organisation NHS. It is analysed from the
research that the NHS requires the more funds to enhance their service level and maintain the
health care system in the United Kingdom. It is observed that the maintenance of the effective
functioning is exercised with the help of effective availability of the funds provided by the
government. The funds are also required by this organisation as the total costs associated with
the staff personnel’s are high in the company which is essential for maintaining the effective
service. This report provides the complete arguments on the basis of the observations from
the various evidence and the research. This research also helps in the analysis of the effective
understanding in relation to the working of the company.

National Health Service is a social care organisation which is originated in the year 1948. The
funds are provided to this organisation with the help of public funding. It is observed that due
to results related to the coalitions the government is desired to address the impact of the
global economic crisis. The rise in the economic crisis leads to decrease in the funding in the
NHS which affects their level of work. It is analysed from the research that the total spending
on the health is England is near to £124 billion in the year ending 2017-18.
This figure is demonstrated by the taking into account the inflations. Around £110 billion is
spent on the day to day activities or used in the running of the NHS. The rest of the amount of
it is spent on activities such as public health initiatives, training and the infrastructure by the
Department of Health. The reason which supports this argument is that the increased
efficiency of the working in the health sector helps in enhancing the image of the company.
This does not only enhance the improvement in the wellbeing of the country but also helps in
the alleviation of the diseases which affects the well-being of the individuals in the United
Kingdom.
The other reason which is addressed in this research and is in support of the argument is that
the private health cares in the UK generally charged more for the services which are provided
to the individual. The higher charges are not easily affordable by all the individuals involved

The other specific reason which supports the argument to enhance the spending by the
government on the NHS is that the individuals in the UK are in need of this organisation. It is
analysed that the biggest users which are linked with the NHS are the old aged people. And
the average of 85 years old costs in the working of NHS around eight times more than when
it is compared with the costs of individuals around the age group of 25-30 years. Hence in
order to maintain the pace in relation to the demographic variations the spending by the
government should be increased. The graph presented below shows the comparison of the
real funds required in by the NHS and the proportion which is provided by the government.
The argument is supportive as the government requires the excess funds to support its
functioning and the activities especially for the old age individuals (Nuffieldtrust, 2017).
It is analysed that the spending by the NHS is quite large which involves the selected groups
of goods required in its working such as drugs, syringes, doctors. The increased price of such
things is due to the reason such as inflation which induces the fact that the increased spending
is required to be necessitated by the government departments. Hence the funds required by
the industry are in major number which makes the government liable for making the
payments of the funds to the NHS. This indirectly helps the company in capital formation and
increased the productivity of the country.

It is concluded from the research that within the working of NHS the increased funding is
considered to be a valid reason. This reason needs to be facilitated by the government. The
reasons which are justified in the above essay proves that the need of the increased funding is
due to the reasons such as inflation which develops certain issues for the NHS to complete its
working with the help of given funds (TheKingsFund, 2017). The recommendation which is
ascertained in this case is to increase the availability of the funds by the government to the
company. This helps in the increased operations and the smooth working of the company.
This improved operation helps in the contribution to the overall development and the growth
of the company which is considered to be an effective indicator. If the services are improved
and enhanced then this also results in improving the image of the country and also helps in
the reducing the number of death rates in the country.
