Introduction (300)
With the growing prevalence of chronic disease, sickle cell anemia is defined as one of most
common inherited disease in the United Kingdome. The clinical features of the sickle cell
anemia are severe pain which is the reoccurring ant and unpredictable in nature. One of the
most common features of the disease is that it has a huge impact on the quality of the life of
both patients and family members and careers. Sickle cell anemia has become an integrated
part of the health and social care practice since it influences the global burden of the disease.
The prime reason behind it is that Children with sickle cell anemia are at higher risk of
developing psychological diseases since. In addition, a frequent problem of pain, withdrawal
from the social interactions and abnormal social behavioral, different cognitive structures are
the common features of the sickle cell anemia which greatly impacted the quality of life in
the cell. Therefore, by integrating it in the health and social care practice able to provide an
opportunity to the community health workers in order to support the patient with sickle cell
anemia and family members who are experiencing negative events in life which decreases
the quality of life. The incorporation of family members and social caregiver in the health
practice proved to improve the effectiveness of clinical interventions and strengthen the
interpersonal relationship. The Aim of the paper is aimed to identify how Sickle Cell
Disease impacts on the Family to contribute to a better understanding and management of
the disease. This paper will illustrate Research aims & objectives, background, research
methodology and literature review of six paper in the following paragraphs.

A study suggested that sickle cell anemia is a condition where the glutamic acid of the blood
hemoglobin is converted to the valine amino acid due to the point mutation in the DNA.
Consequently, blood hemoglobin becomes distorted and blocks the vessels which in turn
give rise to sickle cell anemia. Due to distortion in shape, blood hemoglobin failed to carry
enough oxygen throughout the body. According to, amongst children and adult with the
sickle cell anemia with the median age at which death has occurred was 42 for male and 48
years for the females. Approximately, 12500 and 15000 individuals in the United Kingdom
are suffering from the sickle cell anemia and the prevalence of the disease is increasing
rapidly due to the frequent immigration into the Uk as well as a new birth.
