Client Representation Report
1.
Identify the issues, interests and concerns of the person/group you are
representing.
This
can
be
done
through
discussions
with
the
person
and
with
key people
including experts and others who can provide advice.
A aboriginal community group is represented who has cultural integrated abuse behaviour
of alcohol and other substances but they are interested to learn English and develop their
skills about health awareness and knowledge.
2.
Describe
the
strategies
you
will
use
to
represent/promote
the
client/group interests that you have identified.
Selecting appropriate strategies for promotion is crucial, as the wrong strategy
may damage your chances of success. The framework you develop for these
strategies depends on your client group, the interests being promoted and the
wishes of the people you represent.
The strategies that will be used to develop health literacy of the community would be
through the increase of health related knowledge and awareness empowerment of the
community members done through or rather through the application of seminars,
workshops and health promotion camps done in the community area.
The traditional system of the holistic healing will be collaborated with the medical and
allied health practitioners in order to deliver a more culturally competent and holistic
service to the clients (Rosewarne, Wilson and Liddle 2017)
3.
You need to actively seek out and respond to opportunities to promote
the
interests
or
represent
the
client
group.
Describe
at
least
one
activity that you will undertake to supports your representation role.
For
example:
participating
in
events
organised
by
allies
or
the
community,
generating publicity through press releases, literature etc., becoming a member
of a relevant committee, giving presentations to the public.
The
opportunities
to
promote
the
interests
or
represent
the
client
group
are
educational
and
job
opportunities
of
the
community
workers.
The
educational
opportunities must be given to the children of the community and the job opportunities
must be given to the community workers and involving them in the decision making
process and the strategic processes are critical.
4.
Describe
a
decision
or
development
that
may
have
a
negative
or
positive impact on your representation strategy.

For example: impending changes to social policy, organisation priorities, funding
arrangements.
A cultural competence skill incorporation in the health service delivery process would
have a positive effect on the representation strategy as the service that would be
delivered would be more culturally meaningful to the clients who would be more
satisfied with the delivered health promotion program in the community settings. The
staff development sessions concerning cultural competence would need more funding
and the same must be considered (Miller
et al.
2018)
5.
Describe
your
organisation
reporting
processes
and
how
you
will
feedback to the client/group and other key people.
The feedback to the client/group and other key people would be provided through the
meetings undertaken twice on a weekly basis. Public speeches and documentations
are also apt ways of delivering the feedbacks to the client group that is the aboriginal
community and to the internal stakeholders in the group.
