Executive summary
The manufacturing of the ski pole was a target to the skiers, it helps in the serving of the
balancing to the skier. The choice of determining the ski pole to be used depends on the area of
the application most important aspect of the manufacturing of the ski pole is based on the factors
like the determination of the size correctly according to the weight of the body and ski terrain.
Since the skiers normally choose the ski pole base on the band and the color of their equipment,
the manufacturing of pole considers this factor thus leading to the production of the different
pole of different brands (Administration, 2009).
for the case of the snow shovel, manufacturing also takes a number of factors like the material
used for the product, the area of application and how it is used for example the some are used in
lifting and other are used in pushing the snow. This research work entails the project entails a
report on the options for the manufacture of a two-piece collapsible ski pole and a collapsible
snow shovel which are both manufactured by Black Diamond with the methods or
manufacturing both the one-off prototype/demonstration model and Volumes of 10 000 per
annum needs to be elaborated (Barreveld, 2015).

Introduction
Aim of the project
The project entails a report on the options for the manufacture of a two-piece collapsible ski pole
and a collapsible snow shovel which are both manufactured by Black Diamond. Besides, the
methods or manufacturing both the one-off prototype/demonstration model and Volumes of 10
000 per annum needs to be elaborated. In addition, every part required to produce the finished
products, and the sequence of operations required to produce each part from the raw material, is
to be specified with all the finishing operations. The tooling and machinery required to produce
the end result should also be included in the description
Ski pole
This are skiing equipment that is essential in skies. They give balance and also provide
propulsion .the current skies pole are majorly coming from the carbon and aluminum fibers. But
in most instance, some materials such as the bamboo are also used. The equipment that is used in
the freestyle skiing and in the alpine skiing. The ski poles are also used in the braking and
turning during skiing. Two ski pole is used by skiers as this provides greater balance thus allows
the skier to pushes through the snow with a lot of ease (Brownell, 2009).
Snow shovel (true temper)
This is an equipment that is 18 inch in terms of the length.it is designed to aid in the removal of
the snow. Several snow shovels are made in different design.in which each and every design are
meant to work in different the removal of the snow using can create the health hazard and can
also create the benefits when the shovel is correctly used then it can be so significant to the
health. The shovels are mostly tools that are used by hands majorly manufactured from plastic or
metallic materials and are always strong. Sockets are made folded hem a sheet steel that forms
the handle. The rigidity that is provided to the handle that makes it stronger is due to the fold.
For the shovel to able to hold larger materials, a T-piece has to fit at the last of part of the handle
to control the shovel and aids in gripping the shovel.
