INTRODUCTION
 Personal and professional development is the approach through which the
individual concerns to assess their own skills and knowledge and to set the
desired goals to maximise their own potential.
 It makes the individual to more feel fulfilled and enjoy quality of life.
 Following presentation will cover the description about the challenges that
will be occur during study of business management.

CHALLENGES FACED DURING STUDYING THE
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
 Business management is all about the arrangement of the business activities where the managers oversee the
operational task and lead the team to reach the productivity level.
 Studying business management also comprises of sort of challenges which the individual face during
running of this course. Some of the challenges are discussed as follow:
 Adjusting into the new surroundings: It is obvious that to study the business management individual
enrols in the business school which might far away from their home sometimes learner move to different
country for their study reason.
 Thus it is quite challenging for them to adopt the new environment where different cultural and other things
are being involved. Individual also have nervousness as it is their first time to approach with the BM course.

 Interacting with new people: Before entering into the business school, individual have their own
social groups where they meet with the people who shares the same interest as of them.
 But after entering into business school for studying business management they interact with the other
students whom they are not familiar with.
 In such if the person lacks in communication skills then it will be difficult to accommodate the new
friendship.
 During this individual also have the pressure to select the right company to be friend with so that they
will be able to successfully complete their studying course.

 Scheduling and time management: It is obvious that business students
have to do more scheduling during their learning period, sometimes they
have more classes in one day along with the assignments which need to be
completed on a limited time span.
 For that students faced the challenges as to prepare the presentation and
other academic tasks that consumes lot of time.
 Therefore, they feel the pressure in order to manage the time in order to
deliver the assignment on time, as marks obtained in the assignment will be
add in their annual marks.

 Learning to work within a team: Working within a team always a better decision it helps in developing
the new knowledge as well as to deliver the task with greater efficiency.
 In a business schools there are more situations where individual need to work within a group to complete
the group assignment, in such different situation can also be seen where two individuals do not agree on one
decision and that leads to create the negative environment.
 Thus while working within a team individual faces the challenge as they required to control on their
emotion and on their behaviour so that it do not lead to negative workplace situation.
 Communication is also a key player while working within a team if the student does not have this skill than
it will affect their performance as well as group work performance.

 Academic and professional skills play a significant role, makes the person to achieve success in their career and
to reach to the higher position in their career.
 Academic skills are the abilities and strategies that assist the learner to succeed in their academic assignment
and to perform better in annual examination.
 Whereas professional skills comprise of both soft and hard skills where soft skills are (communication skills,
leadership and time management skills), whereas hard skills are (Job specific skills which can be easily
trained).

develops the students’ learning of literacy, technical and other mathematics subjects.
 Having academic skills enables the student to improvise their abilities for learning, and

with own and organisational goals, it also assist in showing the maturity in work that

 PDP refer to the action plan that helps in identifying the individual
objectives or goals which they want to achieve.
 It discusses the strength and weakness of individual along with the list of
knowledge and skills that need to be improve or developed.
 Team working skill is one of the skill that is required in both academic and
professional career setting.
 This skill usually makes the person to work collaboratively and to achieve
success in task by working in harmony.

 Know goals: Everyone in a team shares the common goal, although they also have their own individual goal
which they want to achieve.
 Thus it is important for me to specify the goals for which I have responsible for, because of this me and
other team mates will understand our roles so that individual contribution towards project success can come
out.
 Positive mind-set Positivity in behaviour always helps in accomplishing the group task efficiently.
 For that I will do exercise and meditation so that I will remain calm in a critical situation it will help me to
communicate with my team members so that any solution for addressing the problem can come out.

 Managing time efficiently: As in team task work of one person is always rely on other person’s
work, so it is important to have time management skills so that it will not affect the work.
 for that I will proceed with to schedule all work and to do important task earlier so that other will
continue.
 Develop team rules: Team rules helps in completing any project with greater efficient, it also helps in
reducing the chances for any mistakes whether it is related to ethics, so I will proceed to allow all my
team members to share their views and opinions in decision making process and I will also make sure
that there will be flow of effective communication that helps in avoiding conflict situation.

while working in a team, appreciation and praise from
colleague always boost morale and work enthusiasm of
team mate.

enables the individual to improvise in their own self and to achieve what they have desired.
