INTRODUCTION It is crucial for an individual to have both personal and professional development in order to enhance their skills as they allow therm to compete task in an effective as well as efficient manner(Artyukhina and et. al., 2018). In addition to this, it helps an individualise to improve upon their weakness and enhance their capabilities The following report will focus of effective identification and demonstration of the skills that are required by higher eduction students along with reflection of my own skills assessing against them. MAINBODY Identification and demonstration of the skills of a higher education student. It is important for a higher education student to have various skills that allow them to complete specific tasks in an optimal manner. In addition to this, the various skills allow a higher education student to ensure high level of both personal and professional development. Given below are few skills of a higher education student relative to personal and professional development. Time management skills: The skill of time management is vita for a higher education student as it allows them to prioritize their work in a systematic as well as structured formation. This results in completion of task in a timely and effective manner. In addition to this, relative to the personal development time management allows the students to develop work and personal life balance. Moreover, the skill of time management helps the students in professional aspect by competing assigned task on time and meeting work deadlines (Makovec.,2018). Research skills The research skills are important for a higher eduction student as it is required by them to conduct research on various topics I order to expand their knowledge. In addition to this the skill allows them to understand various perspectives in an efficient manner. relative to professional development the skill of research will allow the students to gain understanding on various topics such as the operations of a business along with its functioning through research. Moreover, it allows the students to develop suitable solution of issues by conducting extensive research at the workplace. Communication skills: 1
It is crucial for higher education student to possess the skill of communication as it allows them to communicate their unique through as well as opinions on various topics. In addition to this it allows them to share their ideas as well as important information with others in order to compete a particular task. In context to personal development communication skill plays a vital part as it helps a student to develop positive bonds with other individuals. Moreover, in a professional setting it allows the student to communicate task related information with other sin order to compete it in an effective as well as efficient manner (Gubbins and Hayden.,2021). Critical thinking skills: The critical thinking skill helps a higher education student to develop creative as well as innovate solutions to various problems in an efficient manner. It allows the stunts to ensure that they are able to precise information in a optimal way and utilize it in complex situations. This skills also provides assistant to the student in the personal development as they are able to overcome personal challenges in an structured way as well as use the skill in professional aspect by solving business issues through unique and creative methods. Reflection based on my skills and the skills learned I found that the time management skill is helpful as it would help me to complete my projects on time. I know that time management is crucial at every place in my life and would help me to be better utiliser of the time I have with me. Not all the time, I was relevant at managing my time, but I understood that where time was wasted by me. I noticed that time management can be improved for developing my academic performance and help me in my professional life. I would enhance my time management skills by meeting the deadlines on times, preparing routine time table for my works and dealing with the delays. The most important thing I discovered was research ability which enhances the problem solving ability and help me out to learn the things in detail. I learnt that the simplest of research could help to generate optimum results. I learnt that many different ideas can be generated with little research which could also be helpful to enhance problem solving and complete the objectives on time. The research skill will help me to learn the topics effectively and efficiently and gain academic advantage of gaining advanced knowledge by research(Creme, 1999). I was disappointed of my communication skills because I was not able to frame sentences with appropriate meaning. I was surprised of my confidence in conveying the messages in a very 2

fluent manner with the reliable meaning. I think that my sentence framing can be improved with a little practice which would help me to communicate in the best way possible. I think that I could be more effective in my communication with help of my confidence and fluency in speaking. I would do this by carefully listening to others, giving constructive solutions, dealing with criticism, etc. I was disappointed with my critical thinking skill because I was unable to create strategic decisions and solve the logical problems. I felt least successful during a group learning activity where we were given a critical interview task where I took maximum time than other members (Shields, 1995). I had decided to enhance my critical thinking skills in the further group activities like interview round. I will do this by asking relevant questions to others by interpreting their statements and solutions and drawing reasonable conclusions about the views of others. CONCLUSION From the above report it had been obtained that a student needs various skills that are required during their higher studies. Certain skills such as time management, research skills, communication and critical thinking skills had been explained in the report. At the last the report had been providing an reflection of the skills that I have learnt and where I need to enhance myself with these skills. 3
