INTRODUCTION
Higher education is considered as the education programmes that are provided by the
various education institution. It is important for the students to have skills, capabilities as well as
competencies that are required to complete higher education in efficient manner. Scope of the
essay is to identify the problems that are faced by the health and social care organisations along
with different solutions to resolve these problems in efficient manner. In this report Foundation
on health and social care is taken into consideration. There are various problems are faced by the
health and social care organisation from excessive workload as well as employee turnover that
impact organisational overall performance and efficiency. It is important for the organisation to
analyse the problems and take corrective actions that that provide better experience to employees
who are related to organisation and enable business to retain skilled, experienced and capable
employees for linger period of time. Organisation need to analyse that what are the reasons for
that employees are leaving the organisation than provide them better working environment and
additional benefits for their extra efforts. These actions motivate employees to attain higher work
performance and retain them with organisation for longer period of time. This report cover two
questions, first question is related to the problem that are raised from excessive workload among
healthcare staff with potential solutions to resolve this problem. In second question business
problems caused by the high turnover of staff and related solutions are covered in this project
report.

Discuss the problems with excessive workload amongst healthcare staff and suggest some
potential solutions
Problem: Excessive workload is considered as the aspect that is related to the providing
too much work to an individual that make them stressed to handle the extra work. Healthcare
staff is facing the problem that are raised from excessive workload and that directly impact on
their staff members through make them less productive, enhance error, negative impact on their
health and create poor work life balance (Chan, Churchill and Chiu, 2017). There are various
serious situations and pandemic of Covid-19 enhance the workload of healthcare staff members
that unable them to perform their defined task with efficiency and effectiveness. Employees of

health and social care organisation faces the problem due to excessive work such as it enhances
health problems, enhance safety risk, decrease employee’s performance and productivity,
enhances employee’s absenteeism as well as employee’s turnover rates. All these are the
problems and issues that impact organisational performance and productivity. As raining level of
burnout and poor well-being in healthcare staff is the international concern for the health system.
Excessive work directly create the problem related to the mental health issues and risk of
physical illness, debilitating stress as well as mood disorders. All these impact affect the staff
member performance, productivity in organisation and they are not satisfied with working in
organisation. Higher work as well as unrealistic deadlines making staff member in pressure,
overwhelmed and feel rushed. To perform excessive work, staff members do not pay attention on
the quality of work that affect their working performance. If staff members of healthcare
organisation feel excessive workload than it leads them towards higher absenteeism and higher
turnover rate (Holzweiss, Walker and Conrey, 2018). Workload creates burden on staff members
so they loss the situation awareness as well as alertness that affect their overall performance in
healthcare organisation. Dissatisfied healthcare staff members also do not care patients in
efficient manner that also impact the reputation of organisation as well.
Solution: It is important for the healthcare organisation to resolve the problem related to
excessive workload in efficient manner that enhance staff member satisfaction form the
organisation and improve their working performance. Organisation need to understand the
disadvantages of excessive workload and take various actions and steps to make balance the
work that enable employees to perform operations in efficient manner. Health and social care
organisation need to determine work priorities through breaking down the work into smaller
unites and assign them to interested staff that can perform it with higher efficiency and
effectiveness. It is suggested to the organisation to develop effective organisational strategy
through which roles and responsibilities are communicated to employees that enable then to
attain the objective of higher working performance. If employees have knowledge and
understanding of their roles and responsibilities than they perform operations with interest that
lead also being higher and positive outcomes. It is suggested to organisation to examine current
trends, implications, causes and interventions in burnout as well as well-being in healthcare staff
in mental health services (Knapper, and Cropley, 2021Owens, 2017). Communicating with
employees and analysing their problems with organisational work distribution process is very

important for the organisation to drive the solution of this problem. Health and social care
organisation need to analyse employee’s capabilities than assign them specific task so they can
perform their work in efficient manner with great interest. Organisation need to understand that a
satisfies employees is more productive for organisation. There are various perks, extra benefits,
recognition and growth opportunities should be provided by the organisation that motivates
healthcare staff members to perform extra work with efficiency and interest.

solutions
Problem: Employee turnover is defined as the aspect that reflects the number of people
who are leaving the company under some specific circumstance. There are various reasons
because of that employees are leaving the organisation such as poor communication between
management and employees, excessive workload, low recognition, poor work life and less
growth and development opportunities. Ineffective working environment of organisation also the
biggest reason of employee’s turnover form organisation. lack of supervisor support and
recognition for extra performance also demotivated employees and make them compile to leave
the organisation that enhance organisational turnover rate (Shageeva and Suntsova, 2018).
Employee turnover is the prime concern of organisation because it directly impacts the
performance as well as productivity of organisation. Business revenue and profitability also
being affected by the higher turnover of organisational skilled, talented and capable employees
because if capable employees leave the organisation than it need to recruit employee again and
provide them training to perform defined operations in efficient manner that enhance
organisational recruitment and training cost.
Organisation need to hire trainers to provide training to newly recruited employees that
enhances need too much time and efforts. Business with high staff turnover experience low
employee morale and organisational productivity rates. Because of higher employee turnover,
existing employees feel workload and responsibility that lead them towards dissatisfaction. If
continuously employees leaving the organisation, then it impacts the reputation of organisation
and deliver the message that business is not good place to work. Higher turnover of skilled and
talented staff members led business towards losing the opportunities in market place that affect
overall performance and efficiency of organisation.

Solution: Turnover of organisational staff members impact business effectiveness so, it is
important for the organisation to create effective strategies and planning to retain employee with
organisation for longer period of time (Understanding the role of supervisor support in retaining
employees and enhancing their satisfaction with life, 2022). It is suggested to the organisation to
maintain effective working environment in which employees feel satisfied and and perform their
operations in efficient manner. Management department of organisation should provide
supervisor support to employees that enable them to retain employees with organisation through
maintaining their work life balance and satisfaction with organisation. It enhances employees
emotional attachment with organisation and improve their performance level as well. Health and
social care organisation need to provide training and development opportunities to employees
that make them motivated to perform operations in efficient manner (Universities UK, 2018).
Organisation need to maintain effective communication with employees through using effective
communication tools such as one to one communication and other tools that enable the
management to convey all relative information and data to the employees. Through effective
communication, management department of organisation resolve employees performance in
efficient manner and retain them with organisation for longer period of time. It is suggested to
the organisation to Morton employees performance and provide them feedback that improve
employees efficiency and effectiveness. All these are the solutions and suggestions through
which business can reduce the turnover rate of staff members.
CONCLUSION
As per the above report, it can be concluded that there are range of skills, competencies
and capabilities are required to gain higher eduction in specific course. Health and social care is
the course that is related to the various aspects of health and social care that are learnt by the
students in the process of studying this course from university. Health and social care department
faced various problems such as problems that are raised by excessive workload and staff turn
over like reducing organisational performance, profitability and productivity. It leads
organisational employees towards dissatisfaction so they leave organisation. There are various
solutions such as provide effective working environment, training and development as well as
provide them recognition for their extra work that retain them with organisation for longer period
of time. It is recommended to the organisation to adopt training and development approach
because that helps business to retain employees and enhance their working performance.
