Comparison of different mobile operating systems
Smart phones have became basic needs of individuals because it helps them to be aware
of social environment and the changed that are taking place in it. Apart from this one of the
common requirement of all the individuals is the secure operating system so that the data which
is kept by them in their mobile could be secured by them (Shaw and et.al., 2016). There are
various types of OSs which could be selected by the buyers according to the level of the security.
A comparison of all of them is as follows:
Android: It is a mobile operating system which is the modified version of Linux kernel
and different open source software used in mobile phones. It is mainly used in touch screen
devices such as smart phones and tablets.
IOS: It is an operating system used in mobiles and developed by Apple Inc. for all the
hardwar4es which are sold by it all around the world. There are various devices which are
operated with the help of it. These are Iphone, Ipods, Ipads etc.
Windows mobile: It is powered by Microsoft which is a well known company of desktop
operating systems. It is used in all types of mobile phones which are having touch feature or not.
In year 2010 Microsoft launched a mobile phone with this operating system which is called
Windows phone 7.
The Linux Kernel which is used in android phones provides a set of security measures. It
provides different elements to the operating system which are process isolation, user based
permission model etc. and all of the,m help to remove the unnecessary insecure parts of Kernel.
One thing which is required to be focused by the android users is to continuously update their
software because if it is not updates to latest version then it may result in malware in the phone.
In IOS the level of security is very high and it protects the device as well as the data
stored in it so that users can use the mobile phones or other devices appropriately without any
threat. Unlike, android phone the IOS do not have any threat of malware due to in-updated
software. Apple is highly focused to provide more secure environment to the users of its devices
(Security of IOS and Android, 2019).
The window mobile operating system is having the security with kernel which keeps the
all the data secured which are kept by users in their mobile phones. It also protect against
unauthorized access, malware threats and data leakage. There is a lack of accounting for all the
applications which are running in the back ground.

From the above discussion it has been analysed that highly secured operating system is
IOS as its manufacturer try to make sure that it is providing a secured environment to all the
users so that they can keep their information safe (Tseng, Liu and Wu, 2014). Another reason for
its high level security is that it keeps the device as well as the data secured.
