Introduction
Smoking is a bad habit that affects the lungs and other parts of the
human body. In this generation, most of the individuals are smoking that
negatively impacts on their health and leads to death in society. The term
health psychology is defined as the study of behavioural and psychological
procedures in the area of healthcare. It focuses on how psychology, biology
and social elements impact on the health of the consumers. The major
function of health psychology is that it helps to evaluate the impact of the
psychological and behavioral aspects on the individual’s health. Moreover,
health psychology is capable to promote health and wellbeing and provide
effective treatments and prevention programs for addressing health
disorder.
It is determined that cigarette smoking is a leading reason for death
in and more than 480000 consumers suffer from serious lung injuries per
year in the US. Coste, Quinquis, D'Almeida, & Audureau, (2014) reported
that smoking may lead to a diversity of continuing problems in the figure
and produce long-term implications on human body structures. While
cigarette smoking may enhance the risk of death, some of the physical
impacts are immediate. The intention of the investigation is to define the
psychological and bodily impacts of smoking on the human body and review
the importance of intervention programs for reducing such bad habits in the
consumers. This report will be divided into major two sections including the
effects of smoking and intervention or theory used for addressing smoking
in the patients.

Psychological effects
Smoking is a serious issue in the generation and many people are
smoking a cigarette on a regular basis due to which they can suffer from
mental health issues and lung-related injuries. De Jong, et al., (2014)
identified that the lack of awareness is a key factor due to which the rate of
smoking is enhancing rapidly and individuals are not focusing on the causes
and impacts of smoking. The major impact of smoking is that it increases
mental health issues in individuals including depression, stress and many
more. More than 56% of the consumers are smoking cigarettes worldwide
and most of them are facing lung-related injuries as it directly impacts on
the lungs of the human body.
From a recent study, it is determined that smoking is a bad habit of
disruption as tobacco covers the actual addictive biochemical nicotine
(Dogan, et al., 2014). Persons twitch smoking for dissimilar reasons. Some
think it appearances calm. Others twitch since their domestic members or
groups smoke.
Dogan, et al., (2014) identified that more than 67% of tobacco
consumers started earlier they were 18 years old. Therefore, it can be said
that smoking is a serious health issue that needs to be addressed as the
next generation will be addicted and it can reduce their life and negatively
impact on the human body. Many chemicals in rollups including nicotine
and cyanide are venoms that may slay in great amounts. The human body is
clever. It goes on the protection once it's being infected. The initial stage of
smoking or first-time cigarette smoker frequently feel discomfort or red-hot
in their gullet and lungs, and certain even toss-up the chief few eras they
stab tobacco.
Psychologically, smoldering affects the mental health of consumers
and leads to depression and stress type of issues in the individuals. Social
