Smoking Campaign: Be Cool, Stop Smoking!

INTRODUCTION
 According to world health
(2018), more than 7 million
people die annually due
tobacco-smoking. More than
6 million people of this die
due to direct smoking.
 It is estimated that 80% of
the world’s 1.1 billion
smokers live in developing
countries.

 For example, tobacco itself contains a lot of nicotine that is
very addictive drug hence making it cumbersome for smokers
to stop smoking.
 It also contains harmful substances like nicotine that often
results to premature illnesses and deaths (Bala, Strzeszynski
& Topor‐Madry, 2017).

 Previous research indicates that the high percentage of
youthful population has been extensively smoking. As a
result, a good number of youths who smoke becomes ill and
die because of smoking related diseases like lung-cancer,
throat-cancer, heart-diseases (Bala, Strzeszynski & Topor‐
Madry, 2017). That is the main reason for the smoking
campaign.

Reasons for the campaign

 It is therefore necessary to carry out this campaign to
educate young people and create awareness on the dangers
of smoking.
 Also, the campaign will promote ban of smoking in public
place as well as ensure better health

 Behavioral-objective:
 To facilitate the prevention of smoking among the youths and
adults
 To reduce the number of smokers who get addicted to this kind of
vice
 Knowledge-objective:
 To create awareness of harmful effects of smoking
 To educate youths and adults on the importance of environmental
protection (Bala, Strzeszynski & Topor‐Madry, 2017).
 To educate the minors as well as the non-smokers hence reducing
smoking prevalence in the society
Objectives of the campaign

 Belief-objective:
 To rehabilitate and treat the addicted persons from
smoking
 To give a changed attitude to children whose
parents are addicted to smoking
 The main overarching message for this campaign is that
smoking is harmful to your health and you should stop
smoking!!!

 Smoking leads to serious illnesses that in many circumstances
become cancer and heart related diseases which in the end
results to mature deaths to young and adult people.
 So, there is serious need to conduct this campaign to restored
order and health standard in the society.

 To develop and implement policies concerning smoking
 To initiate policies that will offer better treatment (changed
health system) to smoking victims
 To develop policies that restrict smoking adverts, price
increment and minimize illegal sales to youths.
