INTRODUCTION
Across the world is a huge number of people who are detained or confined within the
penal institution as a population and this population is considered as vulnerable the reason
behind this is that constraints of incarceration may have a huge effect on individual's ability in
giving informed or voluntary consent. Prisoners can be an individual who is involuntarily
detained or confined within a penal institution of any part of a world. During the period of
imprisonment there is a high risk or probability or magnitude of psychological or physical harm
which may be countered by a prisoners in their lives at prison (Ruch & ert.al., 2019). Prisoners
may even face risk in their routine dental or medical or psychological examinations and they can
not do anything against it. So, this is the main reason youth prisoners are considered as a
vulnerable population across the world. Population of world prison is increasing rapidly and
prisons cells across the world gets filled quickly and the population as exceeded over 11 million
and it is the youth mostly who get involved in the criminal activities (Ahlin, 2018). With the
increase in number young prisoners across the world they face various health issues like Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and other blood borne viral infections. Besides this they are face
physical or mental tortures from the prison officials and even from other prisoners due to which
youth prisoners are considered as a vulnerable population across the world.

Social Determinants of health
Social determinants of health for prisoners encompasses a wide range of factors which
can be explained below:
Housing Instability or homelessness: Youth who are sentenced with the imprisonment have to
suffer with the problem of housing instability or homelessness. Even it is the parents who throw
them out of home care. Some of them face the difficulty in paying rent or afford a good house for
themselves when they come out of a prison. This also results in the dysfunctional in the family
settings due to various conflicts misbehaviour and child neglect or child abuse. Children grew up
in such families and grow up with the perception and understanding that such arrangements are
normal within the society. Such children become more vulnerable as they are neglected by the
dominant parents and other parents does not object over misleading a child. So, such children
