Social media is now becoming a essential and big part of teenager's life, as per the
survey it has been revealed that teenagers of age group 13-17 years are constantly online and
majority of them are using social media platforms like Instagram, Youtube, Facebook or
SnapChat. Pressure to be available 24/7 over social media sites is a really challenging for
teenagers as well as worry for parents as long exposure to the such platforms affects their mental
and physical developments. Like technology, social media also has its upside and downside as
when it comes about studying the impact it has both pros and cons on the lives of teenagers
(Purba and Istiana, 2020). This study on the topic is significant as internet is easily available and
accessible to the people without any limits and age bar which makes a impact over interpersonal
skills and development of people especially teenagers as they are in the stage of development. In
this study, analysis of social media on education of teenagers can not be included as the prime
objective of the report is to mark the influence of extensive use of social media platforms in
development of interpersonal skills in teenagers.

updates feeds and stories of followers and following over Instagram has caused a great sense of

of fancy images and videos on social media platforms creates a intense desire for the person to
become or act in a desired manner which is showed over such platforms and which makes an
appeal to viewers to follow and likes the posts due to their unique features and attributes. When
teenagers watch attractive and appealing content on such platforms and creates an intense desire
to complete that whim or wish. In ability to complete such desire creates frustration and results
into negative and unaccepted behaviour that results into depression and anxiety. Obsession and
intense desire to look good among teenagers has lead to the mental illness and depression
(Salomon and Brown, 2019).
Whereas, some times these factors also act as healing factors for the teenagers who feel
isolate and unaccepted by the society. Social media platforms plays a important role in providing
support, advice and confidence to teenagers who feel alone, wants to express their views,
