Introduction
This report includes the research study about social policies introduced in Australia by
the government. The assignment includes with the views of other political parties active in
Australia. When any social policy is passed during federal election for earning trust of people by
ruling government than other opponent parties put their perception on those policies they may be
either in favor or against of that. These arguments are made by examining the policy by
considering their each and every point. It helps ruling government to identify if there is any
mistake in policy. The mistakes which marked out by the opponent parties are considered and if
those arguments are valid than sometimes amendment has to made by government or ruling
party.
Social Policy
The policies which are proposed the methods for society, community or nation to fulfill
the needs of people like security, education, health, work etc. Simply it can be defined the
guidelines or principles which are amend for human welfare are known as Social Policy. In
social policy several roles which includes families, civil society or international organization
providing services or support. Social policies are introduced to develop human welfare in order
to complete demands. For every individual who lives in a society or community these social
policies plays vital role for their development and care according to on the basis of defined
standards (Alston, 2019).
‘Unstated’ New Family Policy:
In Australia the allowances of family are now dismissed also the allowance to
unemployed individual of age below 21 is not legal anymore. For such individual their family
will take care of them. The minimum age of the person for single parent support is finalized to
18 years. In this act the rule was passed that the maximum support will be provided by parents of
the child who are less than 21 years and are unemployed (Beall, 2019). Their care will be
conducted by the parents including the study and other activities.
In 2018 the amendment was made in the policy that families which are earning around 65000
Australian dollar or less than that such family will get reliability of 85% in study of their kids. In
