Social work in Caribbean
The idea of social work program is
very new to the residents of the
Caribbean as this only started in the
later part of the twentieth century.
This course are being taught in the
universities and colleges.
More than 2000 students are engaged
in this course and trainings.

Program studies and needs for
social work
All the countries of Caribbean have colonial and
slavery past.
Within the English speaking Caribbean territory, there
are four campuses situated in Jamaica, Trinidad and
Tobago, Barbados and an open campus1.
The courses have developed documented history of
social work and painted out the political, social and

Target audience
These social work programs had been
applied to the [persons who are already
working in this field as well as the
mature students
The selection process is careful in the
graduate and undergraduate
programmes and in part time or full time
programs.
