This essay is divided into four paragraphs where the first one will focus on open spaces required
by the public, second will represent the usage of transport by the public. Third paragraph will
reflect the recreational activities conducted by the public and last one will focus on the health
and safety requirements of the public as whole. First to start with the definition of suburb.
Suburb means an area which is located outside the district or the city basically the residential
ones. For a healthy lifestyle with all the means of protection a well settled residence with all the
adequate facilities such as proper open spaces, well planned transportation system that could help
the people to travel easily and earn their livings. Entertainment is also equally important to lead a
life which is not boring. Health is the most important aspect of leading a healthy and disease free
life will help the public to lead a long and safe journey of life span (Lawrence 2013).
Public Open Space is defined as an open piece of land where the public have an access and
which can be comprised up of both green spaces such as parks and gardens and hard spaces.
Various urban planners and landscape architects made an attempt and referred this term as POS
abbreviation. Where meaning of ‘Public’ can be someone who owns a national, local or the
governmental body, or one who owns a nongovernmental organization, or someone who is
considered as the owner of a private, individual or organization but is made available for the
other public also (C, F and LC 2016). ‘Open’ means open for the access of the public at large, or
for their recreation, or outdoors i.e. spaces that are not included in a building or vegetation. The
best example of public open spaces are the public parks, a town square, and a highway, a private
road with public access etc. POS can raise the visual appeal, amenity and value of a suburbs or
the areas found as its neighbor. Many benefits can be afforded by POS aside providing places for
playing, relaxing or getting activated such as the environmental gains i.e. protecting the
biodiversity and the visual landscapes, retaining the ecology and its linkages. Social benefits

such as gaining through the interaction of the community and activation of places for formal and
informal sports for recreational activities (Chaudhury, et al. 2017). Cultural benefits that can be
gained by recognition and interpretation of values of the historic and the indigenous species. Last
one is the economic benefit which can be earned through providing those provisions which can
support visualization for sports, recreation and tourism. Thus the open spaces can be defined as
those spaces in which the community has an access and is encouraged and properly managed
(Alan and Curt 2016).
Public transport is also known as mass transit and that system by which numerous passengers or
the group of travelers are made available to use the services of travelling and it is generally made
available for the general public and are basically managed by the schedules which operates on
the routes and charge a fixed amount for each trips. The best examples of public transport are
city buses, trolley buses, trams, local and passenger trains etc. Modes of travel includes mostly
all the public trips like the passengers walking and catching the services of the bus or access to
the railway station. Now a days the share taxies are highly on demand in mostly all the parts of
the world which are competing with the fixed lines of the public transport etc. There are Ola,
Uber and many more companies of the same types which provide services through online or
internet (Ercan, et al. 2017). These companies provide door to door services to the people in need
of services. Benefits of the public transport includes firstly the Economic benefit i.e. it reduces
congestion as it is one of the biggest threat to the developed nations and its solution is to spread
the use of public transportation. Second is enhancement of productivity public transportation
plays a very significant role and increase the opportunity and the productivity by moving the
knowledge, labor and skills in between and within the market areas. Third is it increases the
