Sociology 1 Contemporary Australian Society This discussion is based on learning occurred within the ‘race’ module while thinking sociologically. In this context, this paper is going to explain the Mission Australia survey results which are revealing that around one third of young public faced unfair treatment or racial discrimination because of their races during last decade. In this contemporary society, racial discrimination within Australia has been reported by almost one third of young people. It has been observed that race-based mistreatment affected their total development in terms of physical, mental and professional developments(Ford & Hunjan , 2016). Moreover, youth survey by Mission Australia's has revealed thattotal 22,000 young public aged in between 15 and 19 belongs to the whole country participated in the survey. Hence, 4,000 teenagers reported that they used a language include Chinese, Vietnamese and Arabic other than English. The above was the reason that young public speaking mandarin faced the utmost rates of racial discriminations, at around 90%(Ford & Hunjan , 2016). In addition, on an average 80% of Filipino and Cantonese young people has been reported unfair treatment because of their race. Additionally, young people belong to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander was double in numbers while having experienced racial discriminations than the non-Indigenous peers of them(SBS, 2016). In this way, sources like ABC news revealed that still there are few conversations going on within Australian community as well as some acts are being taken contrary to young Australian people which are not at all correct(Ford & Hunjan , 2016).In this way, the ABC and SBS helped us to know about the experiences of several young Australians so that Australian community as well as government can become aware of the likely protest of the future.
