SOCIOLOGY 2 Analyzing the movie, today in India, using the sociology approach Introduction Sociology is a field that illustrates human relationship in the society according to Bowe, Ball, & Gold, (2017). For example, how families relate with the nation, the social classes and how the society belief shapes the way of life of that particular society. The visual contents are significant materials in explaining sociology. They include movies, images, films, ads on TV and other social media in reference to Burrell & Morgan, (2017). In this assignment, it is going to make use of Indian cinema known as India today to explain the concept of sociology. The film revolves around two brothers, Kasim and Kupa Money. The current Indian society that the two brothers are living has grouped themselves in the form of classes, the rich and the poor. The poor people have access to poor services such as hospitals, schools, roads and other necessary facilities. On the other side, the rich people enjoy a good life with their families as they oppress the poor. The environment in the movie is showing a culture that poor people rarely interact with wealthy families and the two classes always fear each other. Exploration and analysis In the context of sociology, the movie illustrates the purpose of the family in society. The family members always protect their loved one in case there is war or any difficulty. For instance, in the movie India today, the two brothers protect their sister when the son's minister is trying to oppress her. They join forces with their elder sister to protect their younger sister from oppression. The choice of the movie, India today, is because of several sociological aspects the film is outlining.
