2SOCIOLOGY
The chosen person is Cynthia Lui. This person has been chosen because she has done a
great work by providing protection to the Aboriginal or the Torres Strait Island. This is because
she has been working very hard even after facing the difficulties and the different hurdles that are
coming in her way. It is because of her commendable work that she was voted as the Member for
Cook at the 2017 Queensland State election. It is because of this reason that she has been doing a
great work for providing protection for the health and welfare of the Aboriginal families. In
addition to this, she must try to carry on with this same legacy even in the upcoming years. It is
because of these efforts that she has been allowed to come in the parliament and also she has
done a considerable amount of work in the Australian Labor Party (Price & Rogers, 2019). One
of the most significant contributions is that she has tried to develop many new welfare facilities
of the vulnerable families, including the women and children who belong from the Torres Strait
Island and are also deprived of many facilities. This will help them to understand that nothing is
impossible and they will be able to achieve any heights of success that they want.
The major impact that she had on the labor party was a commendable community service.
She is able to give back to the community and is also able to make sure that the children and the
other families are having a good and well settled life. Lui was always of the opinion that she has
to make some or the other efforts that are necessary for developing the overall standards of the
community and also to ensure a better life for the overall Torres Strait Islander community and
the Aboriginals in particular.
She has been born and brought up in the remote parts of Australia that is in the Yam
