1SOCIOLOGY ISLAM
The context of the Sura 6 Livestock is one of the most crucial chapters in the Quran that
teach the human beings lots of moral and ethical things. Most issues regarding the challenges in
the Islamic society and the messages of Allah have been revealed. When a person is stuck in the
desert, he will always need the blessings of Allah to survive in the bad situations. This name of
Sura and Livestock has been taken from the Verse 136, 138 and 139. In these verses the overall
lawfulness and unlawfulness of the cattle have been discussed (Mohammed, Alsmadi and
Alazzam: 25). The various ethical challenges and the conflicts between the polytheists and
monotheists will have to be discussed in this paper. A dedicated and passionate Muslim will
always follow the motto of monotheism and keep his faith on Allah. However, this paper will be
dedicated to analyze the various perspectives that surround the Sura 6 livestock chapter.
In the verse 136, the descriptions have been given on the importance of the livestock and
how it had been created. However, it has been said that Allah created the livestock from the
polytheists assigned to him. This is also called the Surah Anam. There are total of 165 verses in
this sura. Here the livestock or the cattle have been used as a reference that helps it to make it
distinct from the other surah. There are several characters in this surah chapter. The main
characters are the God, Disbelievers, Muhammad, cattle, False deities, Ibrahim or Abraham,
Isaac, John, Jesus, Jinn, Satan and many others (Mohammed, Alsmadi and Alazzam: 25). These
characters have been deemed as the most potent of them all to show their influence on this
religion and their ability to create the huge difference by taking the name of Allah. In the Quran,
the Allah has been named as the giver of Mercy and he is definitely the epitome of mercy by all
standards. The concept of punishment has also been shown in this chapter. It has been shown in

Muhammad. On the other hand, there were some people who mocked these messengers also.
These messengers had been given the punishment that they had richly deserved (Almujalli: 3).
The praise has been shown in the name of the God who had created this whole universe
by his grace. All the darkness, light, heaven and earth had been created by him. All the good
deeds of the God and the prophet have been shown in this chapter. Thus the first and the most
important theme of the Quran is the God. Therefore, His miraculous powers are also the parts of
his creation have been discussed in the various sections of the Quran. The God in the Quran is
also referred to as the Allah (Almujalli: 3). Here, it has been revealed that the God is the one and
only supernatural power and His true powers have always shown to be merciful to all the human
beings indeed. Allah is always compassionate to all the human beings and He has always
forgiven the people from their sins. On the other hand, the livestock or the cattle has also been
created by the Allah as well (Lange: 80).
In this Sura 6 chapter, it has been revealed that there are many people who reject the
revelations of the Allah. The disbelievers have always been in the frontline so they can reject all
the claims that the God or Allah has made. The perception of the rejection on the views of the
messengers has been shown (Almujalli: 3). It has also been stressed that no one in the world will
be able to change the words of the God.
Therefore, the ignorant people would be forced to join the God or Allah at His will. The
free will and choice of the human beings is the pillar of the themes in the Quran (Sanaye: 2230).
The free will of the individuals is definitely the most crucial point that has been shown in this
chapter of the Quran. The presence of the God in the lives of the human individuals has been
very influential by all the means (Segovia: 27). Every man had been created by the God and He
Muhammad. On the other hand, there were some people who mocked these messengers also.

gave the free will and choice to take his decisions properly (Ilyas: 37). The values and beliefs of
the Holy prophet Muhammad have been focused in this scenario since the disbelievers went on
to argue with the Prophet regarding the God. On the contrary, Muhammad revealed there was no
point in arguing with him regarding the existence of God since he himself was guided by the
Allah only.
The theme of guidance has also been discussed in this chapter. It has been claimed in this
chapter that the Allah has guided Noah previously and He will also guide both Isaac and Jacob in
the coming times (Porter: 585). Therefore, the rewarding will be given to all the people who have
done good. Some descendants who will fall in this category are the Joseph, Moses, Solomon,
Job, Aaron and David. Allah will always accept the good deeds for the people and He will guide
them towards the redemption by all measures indeed (Ilyas: 37). The God will surely guide all
the people who have done good and whom He wants to guide at His will. Thus, the magnitude of
the God’s benevolence is clear throughout the chapter (Khalifa: 18). The concept of the livestock
has derived in this chapter because Allah rightly felt the compassion for all the animals and
human beings together. In this context, it would be important to convey His messages through
the Holy Scriptures to the prophet or the Muhammad (Lange: 80).
If a person is stuck in the desert and wants to read the Quran, he should always keep in
mind the faith and trust that Allah had ordered about. This would keep them safe as that person
should always keep the faith on the Quran. The person must remember that the prophet is the
entity that resides just beside the God or the Allah. Therefore, he should follow all the guidelines
proposed by the Prophet to keep the human beings and animals alive through maintaining all the
messages. The concept of Abraham is also very clear in this section (Ahmed: 15). The mention
of Abraham can also be found in this scenario since he is regarded as the father of all the nations

in the world as well as the mankind. Therefore, messages of Abraham should be followed and
human beings should also feed the cattle to sustain their lives. These are the most feasible ways
through which the messages of the Sura 6 could be maintained properly (Elhindi: 8).
In the concluding part of the paper, it must be mentioned that Sura 6 chapter has focused
on all the major themes that the Quran has provided to the mankind. The need for doing good
deeds like benevolence and giving, feeding the cattle for their innocence and incapability of
getting food without the help of the human beings. The maintenance of all these measures would
keep the human beings safe from the punishments suffered by the earlier disbelievers. The good
deeds will always bring the rewards for the human beings since they are the most important
people in the society. Some similarities between Islam and Christian beliefs are also significant
like the mention of cattle because the concept of lamb is done in the Bible also
in the world as well as the mankind. Therefore, messages of Abraham should be followed and
