1SOCIOLOGY 1.The chosen social movement for this particular study is the gender equality movement (Milligan, 2019). The equivalent ease towards the access of the resources and the opportunities in regards of the gender that furthermore incudes the decision making and theeconomicparticipationtogetherwiththestateofvaluingdifferentbehaviors, aspirations and the needs are some of the factors that interested me regarding the movement. Furthermore freedom of the development of personal abilities and making choices with any stereotypes, rigid roles of gender have inspired me towards this social movement of gender equality. 2.I have learned about this particular social movement by the means of news article and the social media. The governmental publications and timeline of the events as described in the social media was the source from where I got the opportunity to learn about this particular social movement. 3.The social movement of gender equality in United States aims to answer the inequality and the discrimination on the basis of sex in many of the forms that includes the disparity in the participation of women in politics, segregate of women gender in case of employment status and occupational choice and the unequal burden of labor of household (Goetz, 2018). The gap in the education and the facilities and the access to the health care activities are some of the factors that constitute as the ingredient to the big questions or the inquiry that this social movement is trying to answer. The alleviation of the inequality of gender is one of the big question that the social movements aims to address. Besides these, some of the other ingredients constituting the big question includes the violence faced by the transgender, the inequality by prejudice and the violation outside the gender binary that is prevalent in United States.
2SOCIOLOGY 4.The movement for the gender equality in United States gained momentum due to the age long fights for the gender equality that reached the success of women earning the right to vote, the liberation movement of women. The gender equality movement gained its momentum furthermore due to the support from men and the people in positions of power. The opportunity of women to stand in powerful political position has directly and indirectly affected the day to day life of the individuals. In the context of my personal exercise, the gender equality movement has directly impacted in fair and equal promotion opportunities and fair pay in my employment place.
