1. Overview of research project
In India, solar is major energy source for increasing of power generation, expansion of
energy reliability with environmental and social beneficial properties. The main reason behind
this research is to analyze strategies, future potential and development of the solar energy in
Indian energy sector.
2. Research objectives
Following are the objectives of the research study:
 To contribute to India’s long term energy security
 To stimulate of solar energy as a major source of energy in India
 To identify the rapid development of renewable energy sources in India
 To provide recommendation on solar energy as energy sources for the future
3. Methodology
The selected data collection method is secondary method. The secondary data are based
on time series data between the years of 2013-2017. The researcher collects the data from the
Peer reviewed articles, Journals, Libraries, case studies and Magazines. It is also collected from
“Internet, Energy agency, International energy statistics, Bureau of energy efficiency, Economic
survey of India and Plan documents of India”.
4. Research objectives meet with which research method
The research objectives meet with secondary research method. The data are collected
from observations of people with investigating of various situations where solar energy is used as
renewable source in India. For data analysis, the historical methods are being used. The
researcher gains an understanding by review and investigates the places along with contexts in
which the events are occurred. For this research study, a case study approach is taken by
comparing and contrasting the use of solar energy in India, South Africa and Brazil. The aspect
which is taken is reduction of pollution.
