Profound statement
The members of society enjoy various rights today because of other people’s effort to ensure that
everyone enjoy rights as human being.
Connection with audience
In American history, one of the legends who fought for the civil rights that society enjoy today is
Martin Luther King, Jr. From history, this man was a great social activist who played a crucial
role in shaping up the United States politics and administration. The remarkable activities that
Martin took part in from 1950 to 1968 will continue motivating the current generation according
to Thompson, (2018).
Credibility
For instance, Martin Luther King, Jr was the voice to depend on when it came to fighting
for equality and the rights of African Americans. Many people experienced tough economic
moments, victims of injustice and bloodshed, however, Martin Luther King, Jr proved to fight
the war to the end.

This speech aims to inform the audience concerning the life of Martin Luther King, Jr
and the efforts he made to transform United States and the whole world in terms of freedom.

Main point 1: The birth of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Subpoint 1:
The birth of Martin Luther King, Jr on January 15th 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. Martin was
the second born of the family of Sir Martin Luther King a pastor and Madam Alberta Williams a
retired schoolteacher. The legend grew up in Sweet Auburn City’s with his younger brother
Alfred Daniel Williams and his eldest sister Christine. Martin attended segregated public school,
and later at the age of fifteen years, he joined the Morehouse College.
Transition in the speech
It is interesting to note that both his grandfather and father studied in this college one of
them majoring on the law as another one venture into the study of medicine. Later in the year,
Martin Luther King, Jr joined Boston University. He completed his academic studies in 1953
gaining a doctorate in systematic theology.

Martin met his wife Coretta Scott when he was pursuing his career at Boston University. Coretta
was studying at New England Conservatory of Music. According to Reddick, (2018), the couples
wed in 1953 and build their home in Montgomery, Alabama.

They were blessed with four children including Martin Luther King III, Yolanda Denise King,
Bernice Albertine King, and Dexter Scott.
Main point 3: The struggle for rights by Martin Luther King.
Subpoint 1
The fight for the civils of Martin began when he was still in Montgomery with his family.
One day while he was staying at Montgomery, one Black American was arrested for failing to
leave a bus seat for the white Americans. The event became the beginning of the struggle for
civil rights. Several activists staged a boycott which lasted for 381 days.
Transition in the speech
The period there was characterized by constant economic strain, several businesses could
not go on as a result of frequent and consistent protest for the whites. The activists chose Martin
Luther King to lead them in during the struggle. He later became a Christian leadership
conference leader and could go around the world advocating for the rights. Martin Luther King
was assassinated in 1968 while he was expressing solidarity sanitation workers boycott.

Martin was the only hope for the rights of people living under fear of white’s dominance.
He transformed the world through the commitment he had in his struggle for justice.

One of the quotes that he used that many people remember today is “I have a dream.”
The story of Martin Luther King shows that everything is possible regardless of challenges. The
whole world pays honor to Martin Luther King, Jr as a sign of recognition to the efforts he had
made to ensure there is freedom in the world.
