Specific Purpose: To inform my audience concerning the life and the contributions that Martin
Luther King, Jr made in United States politics.

Profound statement
The members of society enjoy various rights today because of other people’s effort to ensure that
everyone enjoy rights as human being.
Connection with audience
In American history, one of the legends who fought for the civil rights that society enjoy today is
Martin Luther King, Jr. From history, this man was a great social activist who played a crucial
role in shaping up the United States politics and administration. The remarkable activities that
Martin took part in from 1950 to 1968 will continue motivating the current generation according
to Thompson, (2018).
Credibility
For instance, Martin Luther King, Jr was the voice to depend on when it came to fighting
for equality and the rights of African Americans. Many people experienced tough economic
moments, victims of injustice and bloodshed, however, Martin Luther King, Jr proved to fight
the war to the end.

This speech aims to inform the audience concerning the life of Martin Luther King, Jr
and the efforts he made to transform United States and the whole world in terms of freedom.
II. Body
Main point 1: The birth of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Subpoint 1:
The birth of Martin Luther King, Jr on January 15th 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. Martin was
the second born of the family of Sir Martin Luther King a pastor and Madam Alberta Williams a
retired schoolteacher. The legend grew up in Sweet Auburn City’s with his younger brother
Alfred Daniel Williams and his eldest sister Christine. Martin attended segregated public school,
and later at the age of fifteen years, he joined the Morehouse College.
Transition in the speech
It is interesting to note that both his grandfather and father studied in this college one of
them majoring on the law as another one venture into the study of medicine. Later in the year,
Martin Luther King, Jr joined Boston University. He completed his academic studies in 1953
gaining a doctorate in systematic theology.
