Article Summary
Spiritual Wellness involves the intrinsic values and self-beliefs that provide the necessary
direction in our lives. It gives a definite direction to discover oneself and provides values
of our existence, leading us to strive for harmony with others while working to balance
inner needs with the rest of the world. External benefits like job, physical health etc. are
the sources of expectations and hopes. (Gulino Schaub, Luck & Dossey, 2012).
Organized religion may be an outlet for spirituality, but religion is not spirituality it is one
of the expressions for spirituality. ("The 6 Fundamental Differences Between Religion
and Spirituality", 2019)
The concept of nursing is set up on the spiritual platform to serve human being. The
nursing profession is a noble one where we can practice with dedication, compassion,
love and respect for the dignity and worth of every human being, not only to parents and
self but others. The main responsibility in the nursing profession is the promotion of
health and safety, preserving wholeness of character and integrity, maintaining
competence and look after personal and professional growth. (Terceno Lopez, Ferre
