1SPORTS COACHING Coaching sport is identified as one of the noble jobs. As per my opinion, sports is not supposed to be viewed as just an activity. It should be recognized as the lesson learning regardingbuildingupanindividual’sdeterminationtowardssomething, dedication, consistency, positivity and patience. Sports fosters the growth of the players through many opportunities provided with the fact that it is the responsibility of the coach to make them prepare for these opportunities (Cushion & Partington, 2016). The essay focuses on to deliver the philosophy of sports coaching in a reflective framework. As per my opinion, coaching philosophy is quite simple. One is expected to retain an environment where athletes are encouraged to learn and develop their potentials and skills with positivity in the arena of both on and off the playing field. It is to mention that there should be an environment where there is a practice of learning with positive approach in any circumstances, that is, both in good and bad times (Webb, 2017). In addition, the athletes are expectedtofollowethicalbehavioursanddisciplineasithelpstoretainahealthy environmentandalsogoodrelationshipamongtheplayersandmentors.Undersuch environment, all the coaches and athletes are encouraged with enthusiasm that help to make them create an ambience of optimal environment (Cushion & Partington, 2016). I believe that every athlete is needed to be provided with opportunities so that they can improve his or her performance skills and potentialities under the guidance of structured learning atmosphere. It is necessary for an athlete to build up the capabilities of dealing unfavourable situations or circumstances with positive approach of enthusiasm (Webb, 2017). Every athletes are provided with driving force by coaches in order to push them forward or in fact at times it is seen that the coaches push them beyond their capabilities so that the athletes can break their limitations and explore their unexplored potentialities. Such instances require high level motivation and insanity to satisfy the hunger of athletes. Through the course of training, the
2SPORTS COACHING atheletes are benifitted with valuable learning outcomes that further helps them in being capable enough to deal challenging drills (Cushion & Partington, 2016). Sports coaching as per my opinion, is benefitting as a career as it makes the individual develop the analyzing power which is required in the course of effective decision making and precise execution under immense pressure. The practice of retaining such elemental values and virtues help in developing the one’s confidence as well as competency (Webb, 2017). Thereby, it is to mention while understanding the potentials and skills of the athletes, the coach makes up routines and regulations on the basis of which the athletes work out with discipline, determination and dedications. I believe, such practices are required in other every careeristic field. And an individual of such values are always in demand in every dynamics of business organization. In most cases, there people do not remain inclined towards being a coach because it takes lot of sacrifices to remain consistent towards the team of players. However, the love and passion for sports activity is something cannot be taken away. Thereby, people either join the team as their career or they focus on being an efficient or potential coach. However, the majority of the people shift towards academics because they feel insecure regarding their future. Thereby, the basic structure of being successful is to get a degree and then a job. But this does not mean the love for sports gets faded away, rather the emotion for sports stays in their heart forever. Coaches are committed with the duty of facilitating best inputs and opportunities to the athletes who are highly motivated towards their skill development (Webb, 2017). Following it, as per my belief and opinions regarding the idea of athlete environment, I feel it is the duty of a Coach to demonstrate effective leadership by retaining a consistent desire of holding on to behavioural standards within the team. It further instill confidence in all the athletes provide with the knowledge that the development and welfare of the athlete is most important and critical (Webb, 2017). My objectives as a coach is to provide an incredible
3SPORTS COACHING team spirit to the spectators through the players of my respective team. With the sense of responsibility, I believe the values and principles are identified not just by winning a game but also by team spirit, integrity and the power of unity (Webb, 2017). However, the value of unity is not required hen it shifts to the sports that is based on individual training because such sports are associated with the goals of one person, for instance sports like weightlifting, swimming, race and many more. As per my interest, I dream of becoming an efficient coach of hockey team. It involves the fundamental life skills of young people. Thereby, as a coach I look forward to boost these young players with motivations, expert tutoring, constructive criticism and on- hand support. Along with the concerns, I believe in ensuring the health and mental fitness at first and then engage them into prescribed discipline and code of ethics (Webb, 2017). The profession of sports coaching involves the emotions that are attached with the life experience of the young players (Webb, 2017). With progression of time and training, the profession happens to build up a family among the players, and the trainers.
