Event: Saint Patrick’s Day
Introduction
Festival and event are one of the significant reasons to gather most of the people for the
cultural assimilation. The aspect of marketing, promotion, business opportunities, celebrations,
and all these proposed things are under the same roof and enjoy their time over there. Festival is
an occasion that celebrated mainly for the religious perspective; there are some festivals that
associated with someone birthday or death occasion and it celebrates just to remember the person
and the work the man deed for the nation or for the world (History.com, 2018). Feasting and
celebration is another aspect and that has a vital intervention also in human life and they
celebrate the occasion for the name of the person or the name of the lord that they believe.
St. Patrick’s Day is one of such events that celebrated globally. This is a renowned
phenomenon which celebrates 17th of the March in every year. St. Patrick's Day is an official
holiday in the Republic of Ireland as a long history was associated with the process and that is
the reason people from that country believes in this festival and delivers a slogan like "Everyone
is Irish on St. Patrick's Day" (History.com, 2018). This is the most cultural and religious festivity
on the eve of death condolence of Saint Patrick, who was the prime patron saint of Ireland. St.
Patrick’s Day has been declared by the Irish people as the official Christian feast day in the early
17th century and the celebration mainly observed by the Anglican community, Catholic Church,
Eastern Orthodox Church and Lutheran Church. This is an ethnic tradition that Irish people
believe in their mind with holy hearts (History.com, 2018). The socio-economic impact along
with the environment and cultural changes in the nation is the distinct idea of formulating the
event and make the framework of better cultural progression (History.com, 2018). The history of

the event was so penetrating and heart-touching for Irish people that they make this process
eventful and encourage this event.
Discussion
Sustainability of event along with the socio-cultural, economic and environmental aspect
Event sustainability is a huge perspective in case of formulating the event. The aspects of
social touch along with the economic, social and bearable processes are the key fundamentals of
principles of sustainability. The need for the event and the civic association with that is the
crucial factor in that case and that evoke better identity through the event. The celebrated culture
of parades, special foods, music, dancing and all these processes are key events of St. Patrick's
Day. The deconstructing history of St. Patrick's Day and life of Saint Patrick is the crucial
moments that highlights in every year and people have a faith and believe in that, showcases
cultural assimilation also (Raj & Griffin, 2015). The tradition and culture maintained by the Irish
people is the key manner that they maintain throughout the event. St. Patrick was actually a
Scottish but eventually had prophetic dreams about saving Ireland and the converted Irish pagans
for 40 years, this was the change that comes as the strength for Irish and that is the reason they
consider the man as the legend. So this was a social change that has made during the process of
St. Patrick's Day event. The economic aspect is also related to that fact as 34% of people make a
special dinner for that event. The process needs some investment and that might enhance the
quality of economic condition of the country (Yolal et al., 2016). 31% of people attend the party,
25% decorate their home and office and all these things need some investment. On the day of St.
Patrick's Day $4.14 billion rupees had invested and that sates the condition of the economic
development. In case of the environment, they use 40 lbs. of green dye in Chicago River and the

entire river turns into green in colour. They also wear green t-shirts and follow a traditional way.
This may because an environment as they chemical things mixed with the water as the green dye
mixed with water and that caused environment get hampered.
Experience and meaning of the event
The experience for people is great as they have some memories related to freedom is
attached to that. This is the reason 5.5 million people visit St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York
City. St. Patrick is one of the celebrated names over the nation and almost more than 400
Churches are named in the US and this is only because of the deed the man persuaded for
Ireland. This is the biggest occasion for their people and 150 bands participated in that event and
that showcases better experience for people (Getz & Andersson, 2016). The meaning of the
festival is significant and it has a huge celebration for Irish people. There are many places
influenced by this event, especially in North America.
Significant history of the event
The history of the incident signifies the remembered occasion of St. Patrick and the
contribution of the person towards Ireland. St. Patrick has been harnessed as a sign not just by
the cathedral but also by Unionists and Nationalists, and in scrupulous as a carnivalesque
community event complementary with the Orange Order pseudo-military parades approximately
the 12th July. Cheerful parades and carousing of Irish individuality are found right through the
world, particularly in migrant-orientated destinations in the New World from St John’s to

corporate relations for the special celebration in St. Patrick’s Day (O'Donnell et al., 2016).
Tourism management and exploration
Tourism Ireland encourages all the events in Ireland for the special occasion of St.
Patrick. This is a feast day for every Irish people and not only Irish people but also the people
from different nations come to the place for the celebration of the event. The holy day of
obligation and the worldwide Anglican community is the key concern for the Irish
government. More than 250 iconic landmarks and 48 countries around the world join in this
event. This is the huge perspective for the reach of this event and Global Greening Initiative
with green light, the green colour is the symbolism that put in the process of delivering the
issue. Niagara Falls of US and Canadian border has also turned into green (Shaw et al., 2017).
The Leaning Tower of Pisa joins Ireland Global Greening Initiative also, so all the sections in
the world are under the celebration of Ireland event and that is the most crucial event for the
people around the globe. Along with Ireland, other countries like Australia, United Kingdom,
Canada, United States all these countries also celebrate the same event. As the parental place
of the event in Ireland, thus people from other countries join them for that occasion, better
tourism facility is needed in that case so that every planning should be in proper form. Good
food, good beer and all these things are also associated with the process and people from
different background and diverse attitudes join the campaign. Better service in rooms,
facilities in travelling and have a fair system of accommodation and all these things are

suitable handled by the government of Ireland (Buckner, Henslee & Jeffries, 2015). The
significance of the entire day is effective enough that inspires and interprets the composition
as well as the competition for the better management of the event.
Positive and negative impact of the event
St. Patrick’s Day event is a huge event for the world and the impact of the event is far-
fetching so there are lots of positive aligned with the event. The positive image comes in form of
cultural development of the nation. Most of the process celebration processes are aligned with
the carriage of the positive image. In total 56%, American people plan for St. Patrick Day and
rest of them are not quite interested in the event culture. The 20% of the native people have the
negative feeling about this event (Zuev, 2016). They have a different mindset altogether for the
event and that is the key negative impact that St. Patrick’s Day. The cultural assimilation is the
positive impact that comes through the event. 85% of Irish view over the event is eventful and in
between the 86% of people believe that they can maintain a good relationship with US people.
This is one of the positive sides of the aspect. The event process is the opportunity of
participation is there are this is a positive aspect also. The past relationship with other countries
celebrated for St. Patrick's Day occasion was not good and in perspective of the negative
relationship turned into a positive one and that was the price change in the event. As the culture
and fame of the event is the main attraction in the primitive type of process thus attachment and
encouragement is the key issue for this event. The future perspective of the event is the key
process that somehow related with the Irish-American culture so this is the positive aspect of the
event. This was the biggest trading day for some of the business like pubs, restaurants, and bars.
Financial gain is the positive advantage of that (Giovanardi, Lucarelli & Decosta, 2014).
Government support for large marketing was the positive financial support that effects in

national business and this can be considered as positive as an aspect of the event. This is a
religious event and most of the religious section has some secular mentality and bounded nature
in a build. This was the negative impact of this.
Impact on different stakeholders during the event
There are many people who come to this event and they are the major stakeholders of the
event. The event has certification to accumulate people from different genre and sector and that
is crucial in most of the cases. In case of stakeholder management, scope in the economy, fair
trading and people associated with the event in aspect are considered as the stakeholders of the
event. The government, people engaged with the event, band, and parade people all these
sections are considered as the stakeholders of the event (Bryan, 2015). Law enforcement of the
event, media, transportation agencies, elected officials of the event, private industry all these
sections will also play a vital role in this event. There is the mix of interest and benefit aligned
with the process. The reach of corporate social responsibility is there and the stakeholders are
also aligned with the event. Engaging the sustainability with the issue of the event is the key
procedure in that case.
Conclusion
Therefore it can be concluded that St. Patrick’s Day is one of the biggest events of
Ireland and the festive season starts from March in every year. The occasion has a touch of
religious nature, belief and has respect for the man. This is the renowned occasion when the
whole world has come and enjoys the event and a harmony of positivism is there. Their situation
will be richer if all communities come to the event and it does most of the time. The Irish
diasporas have a centuries-old custom of expressing personified individuality on the streets, and

celebratory parades and merriment of Irish uniqueness are found all through the world,
particularly in migrant-orientated land in the new humanity. The access to stakeholders' initiation
