Would you do it differently?
Yes, I would have done it differently by assisting the stakeholders to understand more about
mayo Ireland people since they were the one going to be affected by the activities of the shell
pipeline project. This was going to help on how to communicate and engage the local
communities by planning and strategizing ahead on to tackle any problem which could have
arisen during the implementation of the project. The interaction with the local would have helped
to know the interest of the people living around the site of the project and explain to the benefits
of the project to them. (Burger, 2015)
In trying to avoid the effects of negative stakeholders, they would have reasoned together and
also explained to them on how they will tackle the some of the environmental impacts like
pollution and environmental degradation, and also the safety and responsibility they will ensure
while carrying out the project. (Bourne, 2012)
Additionally, with the communication with the local communities will give an opportunity to
share to them some of the benefits the people will benefit from the project like the creation of job

area.
With better engagement and good communication with stakeholders and project team involved
would have helped in reducing and uncovering some of the risks which may arise during the
implementation of the project hence increasing the perception of project success and easy the

the area of the project would have enhanced and promoted the project success. (Harrin, 2018)

welcomed by the community, hence the project having high bad publicity. Instead, the project
team battled with the local people, fought, harassed and assaulted them even to the extent of
committing criminal activities. They even tried to bribe some of the local people but they were
not ready to accept the offer since they abused the health and safety, and also their human rights
and civil liberties were denied. (Stewart, 2015)
They used the corrupt politicians and county council leaders pushed covered the long-term
impacts of safety and security to the community like pollution threats like for the water
catchment pollution, drinking water poisoning, pipe leakages, environmental degradation and
effects to crops and to the fishermen in which some of the effects will lead to people dying in the
future especially due to the chemicals discharged to the open sea. They also never followed the
