2STANDARD OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES ON MANUAL HANDLING PROCESSES 1. Introduction Based on the requirements of the SOP, it could be recommended that the procedures of operation within the organisation would be modified. This would involve a meeting with stakeholders and management team who would be able to support the business operations (Rushton, Croucher and Baker 2014). Based on the previous processes, there might be a need for the development of modification procedures. 2. Discussion Based on the SOP, I have reviewed the entire set of operations that are performed within National Camper Trailers. Based on the requirements of the business units, I have arranged a meeting with the employers. This meeting would be much focused on the needs of safety practices within the workplace, which should be required to be followed by the employees within the organisation. The current processes of work within the organisation have been evaluated based on constant observation over the employees and their working conditions. This has also involved the conduction of surveys on the employees (Jacobs and Lagendijk 2014). Based on the surveys, it has been found that there are certain kind of issues that are faced by the workers and would be neededtogetresolved.Basedonthecurrentworkprocedure,thereisahighneedof development of new strategies based on safe work practices within the organisation. There are some factors would be able to impact the current development processes. Based on the currentwork scenario, there would be some kind of recommendationsbased on improvement of the development processes. This would include the support of the decisions of the employees, which would result in a positive work culture.
3STANDARD OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES ON MANUAL HANDLING PROCESSES The new operational procedures would be able to improve the work culture within the organisation. The trial operations would be conducted on a smaller group of employees. Based on the results, this form of procedure would be able to put an impact over the entire group of employees. The use of KPIs within the developmental framework would be able to measure the effectiveness of the designed SOP. In this report, the use of Supply Chain KPI would be efficient for the purpose of achieving the objectives set within the SOP. This kind of KPI would ensure the on-time delivery to the customers, on-time shipping from warehouse to the end customers, accurate order fulfilment and would also ensure proper delivery costs. The use of Quality KPI would also ensure defects per thousand units of product. It would also conduct internal audit and produce results while ensuring customer satisfaction. Conclusion Based on the consideration of issues covered within the warehousing department, I have personally observed the steps taken by the employees in order to pack and lift packages, dispatching them on the conveyor belt and loading them onto trucks (Grainger 2014). Based on the observation of the work of employees, I have noticed the risks and hazards that are in relation with the health of the employees.I would set a clear description of each technical requirements for a particular material, service or product that would be procured. Based on these requirements, I would be able to rate the other forms of risks that could be incurred during the manual handling of packages. Based on this evaluation, I would be able to set new kinds of guidelines of Health and Safety for the employees associated within the workplace.
