1. Impact of personal, academic, organizational, volunteer and/or paid work experiences oncounselling profession.Counselling is focussed on the development of a professional relationship as a meanof enabling the individuals, their families and a group of people to attain both mental andphysical wellbeing for a successful accomplishment of their education or career related goals(McLeod, 2014). On considering my decision of becoming a counsellor, a leading reasonbehind that is to serve the community people in the best possible manner. Herein, I have beeninfluenced from my previous work experiences where I came across many such people whoare going through a difficult phase of their life and are tremendously depressed. Also, theyare seeking help of a professional counsellor who can truly understand their problem andcome up with effective solutions to resolve the same. I am an undergraduate in the field ofsociology and anthropology that has assisted me in investigating several aspects of human’slife and I feel myself to be ready for this endeavour. Despite of choosing a distinct career inthe past and not directly getting into the field of counselling, I feel myself connected to thepeople after so many interactions and confident about assisting them in getting a better life.For this reason, I have opted to transform into the field of counselling.2. Reasons for seeking graduate work at this time.There exists a phase where everyone in their life feels the need of either counsellingothers or themselves. Whereas, there together occurs a huge difference between aprofessional counsellor with that to the amateur counsellors. This is basically on relating theabilities of both aforesaid type of counsellors where the professionals are highly proficient insupporting the individuals to lead a more blissful and prolific lifestyle (Hodges, 2014). Thisstands to be a major reason behind looking for graduate work at this point of time where Iwant a thorough replenishment of my existing abilities in this field. This is to become enough1
