Introduction
Data analysis is a process used to identify the common patterns present in the given dataset. Here
the SAP HANA software is employed for the data analysis process. SAP HANA is a web-based
data analytics tool used for big data analysis. This is one of the most common big data analysis
software. Here the selected dataset discusses the total inflow and outflows of the trade sectors.
The dataset mainly discusses the flow of different aids given to the trade sectors in Australia. In
the report, a detailed procedure of the data analysis process and selected strategies will be
discussed. Also, the findings of the conducted analysis will be explained (2017 the 2nd IEEE
International Conference on Cloud Computing and Big Data Analysis (ICCCBDA 2017), n.d.).
Based on the conducted analysis findings major recommendations for the company's CEO will
be developed.
Create data view/cube-Data modelling and provisioning
DATA Provisioning
The process of creating, preparing and enabling a network to provide a typical set of information
to its users is called Data Provisioning. Processed data will be then loaded into HANA to be
presented to the user in an accessible format.
Typically these processes are known as Extract, Transform and Load or shortly ETL where the
Extract part refers to data extraction from different sources, transformation of the collected data
through a set of rules or functions will be the Transform part while Load refers to the processed
data loading into the target system ("A Relative Analysis of Multi-Relational Decision Tree
Learning Algorithm", 2017).
In most of the cases the most difficult part from all three will be the Extraction, where sources
should be clearly defined and easily available.
Replication in SAP HANA
2

Replicating data in SAP HANA can be done in two ways:
Using the built-in tools in HANA to collect flat files (like .csv, .xls or .xlsx) or data
streams.
Using services provided by SAP like SLT when running on a Net Weaver Platform or
direct when the extraction is ETL driven (Ramkumar, Hariharan & Selvamuthukumaran,
2012).
Data modelling
The method of processing the information and presenting it in a multi-dimensional model is done
through a SAP HANA modeling activity when an Information View is created.
During the process, user will fragment the information collecting and selecting relevant data for
a business scenario (Prassol, 2015). Based on the refined data an Information View will be
generated to be further use in dashboards and reports to support the decision making process.
The Information View will not be limited to one business scenario but will integrate several
scenarios for a correct decision.
Data in Information View will descriptive and non-measurable (e.q. business name, location, ..)
when is an Attribute or quantifiable and calculated (e.q. stock movement, sales, ..) when is a
measure.
SAP HANA is supporting three types of attributes: Simple (as is collected directly from data),
Calculated (when is a combination of 2 or more simple attributes like Address being compiled
from Street, No, City, Country) and Local (own by the processes inside HANA) (Acharjya,
Dehuri & Sanyal, n.d.).
With regards the Measure, SAP HANA is supporting four types: Simple (like in the case of
Simple Attribute when is collected directly from data), Calculated (when is calculated from 2 or
more Measures), Restricted (when is filtered by the user: for example trees higher than 5 meters)
and Counter (special type).

The SAP HANA dataset analysis first, create the database. The data base name is saphanadb.
The below diagram shows the database over view.
The below diagram show the SAP HANA Web Based Development Workbench dashboard. It
includes the Editor, Catalog, Security and Traces.
4

First upload the dataset, create the package for analyzing the dataset. The package details are
given in the below diagram. The package name is GBI-078. Description is Aid trade. The
responsible is Aid for trade can contribute to achieving health objectives. Original language is
English. Then click the create button (Bhatnagar & Srinivasa, n.d.).
The GBI-078 package is shown in the below figure.
