Storyboard and Script for a Medical Video: TMT309 MD Project

This project showcases a storyboard and script developed for a medical video, focusing on the depiction of colon cancer symptoms. The assignment begins with a detailed guide on creating storyboards, including template creation, script integration, sketching, and note-taking. The script outlines eight key scenes, starting with a healthy patient and progressing to the detection of colon cancer by a doctor. Each scene is described with specific actions, dialogue, and transitions, emphasizing the importance of recognizing symptoms such as fatigue, changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, and blood in stool. The final scene reinforces the need to consult a doctor upon experiencing these symptoms. Storyboard and script
For the creation of storyboard there are several steps that are required to be followed:
Step 1: Create a Template
Draw a series of rectangles on a piece of paper, as if you were creating a comic strip. Make
sure you leave room for notes or lines of script under each rectangle.
Step 2: Add the Script
Under each rectangle, write the line of script or dialogue that corresponds to that scene.
Step 3: Sketch out the story
Don’t worry if you’re not an artist - simple stick figures will do the trick. You can indicate
movement with an arrow. A bad drawing is better than no drawing!
Step 4: Add Notes

Finally, add in any notes about each scene. This might include a description of what’s
happening, camera angles or movement, and any special effects. Don’t forget about audio
like music or sound effects.

Scene 1
The first scene of the video shows the patient Mr. Ahmad who initially to be a quite happy
and healthy person.
Scene 2
This scene shows that he is healthy life that he is spending.

Scene 3
This scene shows that the wife of the patient seems to be worried since he keeps on going to
the bathroom.
Scene 4
This scene shows that he has deficiency in defecation for quite some time now.

Scene 5
His wife convinces him to see a doctor however he tries to neglect.
Scene 6
He seems to loose appetite and his mood.

Scene 7
Finally the patient meets with the doctor and he detects the colon cancer and asks to lookout
for the symptoms like feeling usually fatigued, change in bowel habit, consistent abdominal
pain and bloating, persistent abdominal discomfort for long periods, blood in the stool.

Scene 8
This ending scene shows that if you have these symptoms then one should make sure to see a
doctor.
