1. Organisation Description
Straits construction is a national level constriction company that has already delivered
different constructional development across the nation including The Whitley Residences,
Sea Esta, Yishun Greenwalk, and other. The company is a trusted partner of Housing and
Development Board (HDB) project at Serangoon.
The Serangoon brunch consists of 135 employees, where 75 employees are ground level
workers, 25 of them works in logistics and supply material and 20 of them are constructional
engineer and 15 of them are office workers. The average work experience of the workers of
this brunch is 5 to 10 years.
2. Workplace Study
Straits construction approach to measure their current work-related stress and fatigue level
within their employees. They want a detailed analysis of their workforce and their
occupational stress and fatigue level in order to develop their intervention for the
improvement of workforce efficiency.
My director appointed me to execute the project by collecting data about the current
occupational stress and fatigue factors within workforce of the client organisation. For this
assessment the data is required to be collected from the workforce of the client organisation
by close ended survey. The quantitative assessment will be needed to find the major
contributing factor towards the occupational stress and fatigue as well as the existing level of
stress and fatigue.

3. Aims and Objectives
The aim of this study is to carry out a workforce assessment in order to understand the
current occupational stress and fatigue level and the major contributory factors behind current
situation for developing an improved workforce engagement plan.
The objectives that should be achieved are:
Communicating with the workforce to understand their current level of occupational
stress and fatigue
Examining the contributory factors behind current situation
Analysing the existing occupational health and safety related policies of the client
company
Forming a set of recommendation for the required changes
Creating Standard Operational Procedures for workforce control and scheduling
Developing a final workforce control policies and procedures for the employer of the
client company

5. Project Barriers
There are three major project barriers that need to be addressed properly. Firstly, the
employees may suppress their details about work related query because of the pressure from
management. Secondly, due to tight workforce schedule collecting data from a considerably
large number of sample size within the workforce may become difficult. This project may
require additional times to get permission to review the occupational health and safety and
agronomic policies and procedures while developing and implementing a new upgraded
occupational policies and procedures.
6. Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1: Synthesise and demonstrate skills and competencies required for
successful integrated management.
I am handling almost all aspects of this project where commination with clients, investigation
skill, and problem solving skills are required. I have to also demonstrate the occupational and
safety related knowledge that is associated with workforce stress and fatigue. In order to
ensure integrity, I have planned to conduct multiple meeting within the project associates and
the agents of client before, during and after the project.

Learning Outcome 2: Displays resourcefulness and initiative in tackling a variety of
practical tasks in an occupational setting.
Through creating the Standard Operation Procedure for the workforce along with the changes
in workplace health and safety procedures of the client company, this outcome will be meet.
Learning Outcome 3: Examine the critical practical concerns that arise in carrying out a
project within the workplace and synthesise the constraints that exit within such frameworks.
This project will also allow me to conduct face to face survey as well as practical analysis
and investigation of different factors. This project will also allow me to execute the required
process based on the practical evidence based resources.
Learning outcome 4: Critically apply knowledge about the practical application and
synthesise the different abilities required to implement the chosen client based tasks.
I will meet this learning outcome by 4 by complying with the legislative and statutory
requirements for the client company under the national level regulation of data privacy and
security.
