INTRODUCTION
A strategic change management is based on the process or method for managing any kind of
change in a structured, thoughtful in better way to meet organizational goal and objective. The
change is an essential for contribution to thrive and meet the competition of industry
competitors. This documentation is based on the M&S, which is based on the major multination
retailer with headquarter in London, England. This company was specialises in selling their
clothes, home products and other kind of food items. M&S was found in 1884 by Marks and
Spencer as two partners. This report will discuss about the change management strategy,
considering the enterprise stakeholders. Furthermore, it will evaluate the internal and external
factors, identify vision, create implementation plan. This will help for eliminating any kind of
obstacles to manage the resistance.
TASK 1
Develop a change Management strategy and using 8-step model propose by Kotter
Change Management is a kind of structured and planned approach to move the M&S
from current state. M&S has responds to change in the business operations. There are different
way to change management model works. Kotter has been introduced the eight steps of model in
context of change and then implement suitable approach to achieve desirable goals.
According to the Kotter model, it enabled to make an effective plan that should help for
developing an appropriate stages, achievable and measurable change. In order to establish a
better coordination with different employees as quickly. The change must be depended on the
realistic, achievable and measurable (Annie, 2020). These are considered the important aspect to
relate with change management, individual people participate in M&S to achieve desirable
objective or goal of enterprise. By using change management strategy plan, it become easier to
determine any kind of affect and able to handle the entire business performance and efficiency in
global marketplace.

Background of Change in M&S-
M&S is a leading brand in global marketplace but at certain place, it would require to do
change and improve overall business activities. in today’s world, companies are living in time of
change, indeed more innovative idea help for enhancing the organization. in past decade,
manager realized in the M&S without any change unable to gain more opportunities. In fact, it is
also completely reduce the current business position in society (Forto and Duby, 2020). Even if
enterprise indulges in change which may become consider too late to prevent business
performance.
M&S has been damaged because they have not properly change the business process. it is very
difficult for organization to handle complex situation or condition. M&S, after gaining a lot of
strong position, brand reputation but a small mistake will impact on the overall profitable rate.
The worst thing is that M&S were accompanied by evidence- there will be considered the
bad choice of women clothing, lack of resource. In this way, M&S has been confirmed that
needs to be resolve such kind of problems. This can possible when a dynamic leader in the
fashion field but M&S was never one of this things consider:
Strategic change management plan-
Strategic change is based on the movement of M&S away from its current state towards
desirable goal and objective. It helps for M&S to increase their competitive advantage. Change
management approach brings more congruence among business strategy structure and other kind
of HRM (Human resource management) system and environment or culture. Strategic change
will require the attention towards management to M&S in context of political, cultural as well as
technical aspects. Usually, Manager of M&S often select restructuring of enterprise in context of
implementation regarding strategic change. This will help for improving the entire performance
of enterprise in proper manner. in today’s world, it has rapidly increasingly the environment that
demands of potential consumer satisfaction. This will help for achieving the better quality
improvement, needs for enterprise to emphasize with overall business structure.
