INTRODUCTIONLeadership is one of the important aspect in the business organization in whichleader lead a group and team to influence the behaviour of the employees in effectivemanner. Along with this strategic leadership is an effective process to enhance ability ofindividuals to take best decision in order to achieve long term success in appropriateway. One of the important purpose of strategic leadership is to manage all the changeswithin the organization and also implement it effectively. It also define the betterutilization of effective strategies to manage all the employees in which they easilyexecute organizational changes (Altman and Tushman, 2017). In this aspect strategicleaders deal in ambiguous environment in which they face various issues whichinfluence by external organizations. The main function of strategies leadership is toenhance the strategic productivity which leads in encouraging employees to implementtheir own ideas within the organization to achieve its goals and objectives. Presentreport is based on Tesco, which is British multinational retail company that providegrocery products to their customers in order to get higher satisfaction by them. Thisreport discussed about role and importance of leadership in Tesco context which helpsin managing all the changes in effective manner. Along with this, leadership styles isalso mentioned in this project. At the ned of project, key performance indicators is alsodiscussed in this assignment.TASK 1Role of leadership and its importance in the process of managing and deliveringprogrammes of changeLeadership is one of the important aspect which play significant role in businessorganization to lead and direct the term and a group which helps in achieving long tramgoals and objectives. Better leadership can helps in achieving higher success to theorganization in which leaders take best decision regarding business activities ineffective manner. In this aspect leaders also ply important role in organization becausethey set vision for the company and also motivate and guide their employees in order toenhance their working performance. With the help of this they easily implement all thechanges in effective manner (Brown and et. al., 2017). Apart from this, leaders are the1

one person who encourage the employees to perform their task and also follow theirown ideas to achieve positive results. They also motivated them in which employeeseasily done their task with more efficiency which leads in getting strategic objectives ofthe company. In Tesco context, leaders are responsible for implementing all thechanges in which they analysis overall performance of the workers and determine theimpact of changes within the business (Burton, 2017). With the help of this, leaderseasily manage all the changes in appropriate manner in order to deliver all the programsof changes in systematic way. One of the main and important role of leader is toaccomplishing organizational goals, organize all the people, formulate plans in order toachieve higher success at market place. It aid in enhancing the goodwill of the companyat market place. There are some important role of leader within the Tesco in which theyeffectively manage all the activities in order to enhance overall performance of thecompany. All are as follows:Team building: It is one of the important role of a leader is to make an effectiveteam in which they motivate and encourage all the employees towards the workso that they put their best efforts to implement as well as manager all changes ineffective manner. With the help of this Tesco enhance their performance level atmarket place.Vision builder: One of the important role of leader in Tesco in which they setclear vision in order to achieve all the organizational goals and objectives. In thisleader has bes capabilities to influence their employees to perform their duties toachieve positive outcomes in systemic way (Dyer and Dyer, 2017). Along withthis they also provide better rewards and benefits to the employees who performwell. With the help of this leader easily enhance their overall performance andalso made capable to achieve organizational mission and vision in most effectivemanner. Design thinker: A successful leader always focus in learning process in whichthey set their mindset and also learn from their last mistake which make themstrong and capable to take risk. Leaders easily implement changes within theTesco to achieve strategic goals and objectives in most effective manner. 2
